OW team in particular the matchmaking department have demonstrated they have no idea what they are doing. The matchmaking is horrendous and it’s about time they were held accountable and replaced.
This is a message to Aaron Keller who should also be fired tbh.

While I agree that they are incompetent I’m not going to ever support someone losing their job, these are peoples livelihoods. Having said that I would be ok if their job was changed to making popups on the blizz home page, or calculating algorithms for target based ads. Those won’t work properly either but at least it will be for things that don’t affect things we care about, it’s clear they just need to be doing something else, but it could also be controlled by people above them, you never know.
The number of people who are going on uncontrollable loss streaks right now is probably off the charts.

unemployed behavior right here
What if you’re wrong and it’s actually not an issue…
That isn’t really a thing, so not sure the relevance here.
This actually couldn’t be further from the truth and is just how children and minimum wage service workers think the corporate world works. Companies across America are filled with incompetent people who got their position by nepotism, seniority, lying on their resume and during the interview… almost none of them get fired. At most companies the only way to get fired is to physically or sexually assault another employee.
There are tens of millions of office workers pulling in six figure salaries who barely know how to use Microsoft Word and do like 2 hours of actual work per day. A lot of them are working from home still after the pandemic, getting paid to wiggle their mouse and stay “active” on MS Teams in between playing video games, doing laundry or other chores around their house, or running a side business.
The proles don’t even know the half of it.

There’s a lot of truth to this. Maybe we should face it, the incapable devs proverbially wiggling their mouse on the hour to keep their jobs are a metaphor for the corporate world. How many people complaining about the rotten matchmaking are playing OW while “on the clock” at their work from home job?..basically doing what the devs are doing: slacking at their job.
On the other hand there are a significant number of people who take pride in their work and constantly work to improve things, even if those people work less than 8 hours a day they are EVENTUALLY improving the product they work on - this is not the case with the matchmaking, it’s been awful since the start. I would ask the devs, could you at least work on making matchmaking better in the two hours a day you work?? Is that reasonable???
Apparently not.

Wishful thinking, but they’re incompetent, so will never make improvements to the matchmaking.
Need new blood running the show. OW2 is a dying game… it may have to die before they lose their jobs!

they’ll be fine lol. we’re not talking about struggling mcdonalds or target worker living paycheck to paycheck. if they’re fired they get a severance package which is probably more than anyone makes in this very thread and then they’ll get another job being incompetent in another tech company

fire these horrible devs, they need to work elsewhere and hire people who know what they are doing. Blatant nepotism

But you can’t tell us why and how, aw.
most people have little to no understanding of how capitalism actually works. this is the reason every video game sucks.
Problem will take care of itself when Marvel Rivals comes out and OW loses 80% of its player base.
