The way I understand it, if you are 2500/1800/2600 (DPS/tank/support) and you play Comp with Role Queue as Rein, then it will match you with others in your team who are also in the 1800 range.

Correct, but my argument is, “If I can play tank at 1800, don’t I deserve a tank at an 1800 level when I play DPS or Support?”

seems good on the surface, not sure how it would work out in practice though

If your dps is at >500 why would you deserve a support which is at a rank equal to another class of yours?
What kind of selfish way of thinking is that
Oh i have a dps at 800 and a tank at 3k lets get a 3k support/tank to carry my dps

Let me put it this way your tank is at 3k an you get a support that 500 instantly you both are minus rp but youll lose close to 100 cause the average was low
No one will carry your bronze as s out
