If I leave a QP game

You can just use the avoid system to NOT entering the same match again.

Leaving a match knowing that it is higly probable that the matchmaker is not going to find someone new to fill the hole in time, or that it can put another player that also leaves to avoid that map or mode (gotta love chain-leavers) is almost the same as throwing.

You are creating a problem because you don’t want to play the game.
Smurfing isn’t bannable, but it isn’t seen with good eyes either.
M&KB isn’t bannable on consoles, but that is another thing that is seen as something disruptive. Even Blizzard said that they do not like M&KB on consoles, but that they cannot ban those players.
This way of avoiding maps and modes is just another thing that falls on that grey area where is not bannable but is it seen as something bad.
I really doubt that Blizzard would said “Yeah, I’m ok with people leaving matches because of the map or mode”.

Ummm how about you be a decent human and don’t leave games??? Hmm what a concept. (Although I’m sure 90 percent of the comments are going to say the same thing)

I am a decent human being. Your automatic assumption that I’m not very clearly makes you not one though.

I don’t know, leaving matches is for really any reason other than a non gaming related emergency is very childish. Listen, you hit the button to play the game, you signed up for it, your teammates and enemy team are relying on everyone to have a good fun game, and you leaving right off the start is super cringe. Just messes up the flow just because you feel like leaving. Just seems silly to me.

Yeah, I pushed the button to have fun. If I know I’m not going to have fun, why would I stay and subject myself to that kind of pain and irritation? Why shouldn’t I leave and have someone else who doesn’t mind swap out for me?

Well, if you don’t see that as a childish selfish attitude then idk man, I don’t think I was that far off in my original comment. Good day to you.

Wow, you’re actually saying that I’m childish because I don’t want to suffer? That’s amusing.

It’s more the only thinking about yourself thing and disregarding the other 11 random people you chose to play with. If playing the game is so suffering for you then why would you choose to play it in the first place. (Mostly a rhetorical question don’t feel like you need to answer)

So what? The game hasn’t started and given my chosen role I’m going to be replaced in seconds. No one cares. Except for me because I know I’m going to hate the game. And no, I didn’t choose to play with those people, Blizzard chose them.

If a person leaves during character select, before the match even starts, it is in no way considered throwing or even remotely close to it. As such, if a player leaves before the match begins, there is zero penalty for the player. It is worse to leave during the match and if you leave during a match enough times, you will incur a penalty, where as leaving before the match begins you receive no penalties.

As for the person who says be a decent human being and not leave, get real. My life doesn’t revolve around this game and neither does anyone else’s. I feel no guilt or shame leaving before a match starts and it sure doesn’t make someone a bad person for doing so.

We all play this game to have fun and relieve ourselves of stress, so if there’s a map one doesn’t enjoy, like I said, I’d rather them leave before the match starts so we can get a replacement ASAP. If I’m not going to have fun on a map, why should I play it?

Don’t try to make others feel little because they do things a certain way. I am not here to cater to how you play.

There is a way but I’m not going to share how because I hate people that leave games and instantly requeue.

Ok. I mean…are you wanting to hear how much I’m hurt by this? Oh, I’m so very hurt by this. I’m now going to see the error of my ways. Oh.

Just give us the option to Opt out of backfill.
