If bob ties with Reinhardt so should Hammond

Just saw your overwatch’s interaction video going over all ashes interactions (if someone could post I’d appreciate it).

It covers bobs interactions with reinhardt’s charge, brigs shield bash ect. In each case both bob and the other target “tie” and knock eachother down.

I’m cool with that. What I’m not cool with is Hammond out right losing these exchanges when at max speed. The main arguement I’ve heard against Hammond tying with targets is that he doesn’t have a hard stun on his abilities, but bob doesn’t either.

TLDR: if bob ties with charge like abilities so should Hammond.

Hammond doesn’t have a “charge” mechanic like those heroes. He doesn’t factor into the equation of charges canceling out at all.

Neither does bob, he has a knock up. If you don’t think Hammond should tie neither should bob

with how deadly CC is for the hamster, I think it’s actually beneficial he gets knocked away instead of knocked down

He doesn’t get knocked away he gets stunned and in the case of rein he gets pinned

Bob doesnt have these abilities because he’s an ULT. The Devs are balancing Bob according to his status as an ult and hammond a hero. Hammond is also harder to charge, a rein will need to time the charge and be accurate against a hammond whereas bob is an immobile target.

Bobs running acts like a charge in the game. Hammond rolling doesn’t. Wanting hammond to tie with them would require them to rewrite how the ability works entirely. You’re asking for a non-charge mechanic to tie with charge mechanics

You are misunderstanding. Bob can get pinned while stationary however during his initial dash he knocks up the first target, if he hits a charging rein, a shield bashin brig, a rocket punching doom fist ect. He gets knocked down and so does the enemy player.

This case is unprecedented because each of those cases the enemy is using a stun, while bob is using a knock up.

Until now people have argued that Hammond loses the charge battle because he doesn’t stun targets while at max speed he knocks them back. Well bob doesn’t stun people either he knocks them up.

Max speed Hammond is manouverable, and can spin around, making it harder to pin him.

Rein, DF and Bob just move straight and are easy to charge back, and Brig used to win these duels, but it was too strong so it’s a draw now.

How exactly do you knock down a ball?

Exactly! It was too powerful so they created the mechanic where both parties were knocked down.

Hammond should be regularly rolling straight into a rein so it’s actually common for them to clash head to head with a max speed Hammond knocking back a rein who charges the Hammond. Then Hammond just loses and is pinned/killed by the rein making that play very risky. If instead both parties were knocked down it would make the interaction more consistant for all parties

lol good point, but he would probably leave the ball form and fall down supported with his legs

If you earth shatter Hammond in ball form he is knocked down

Plus I’m pretty sure he’s only bad against Reins charge. He doesn’t get pushed out of ball form, even when stunned, which means no crits for the enemy. Not only that, I don’t think Doom can punch him into a wall, he just bounces off. Pretty strong, if you ask me.

DF can punch him into a wall, im 99% sure

This is not the case. If you charge a rein full speed and he charges you back you will be pinned, knocked out of ball form, and if available slammed into a wall for massive damage. You lose the exchange period. Just like with shield bash and rocket punch. All forward momentum is instantly lost and you straight lose the exchange.

And slept, and hacked.

Forgot about those. But he’s still not any worse off than anyone else.

Sleeping and hacking works the same with any target. If a rein is charging and you hack him he stops charging. If a rein charges a rocket punching doom fist both get knocked down

If Hammond max speed rolls into a rein or doomfist he loses both exchanges
