If anyone asks you to swap off doom

I never did. I countered him just fine as Orisa in OW1.

I miss when he would meteor strike and i would just wait with shield raised like 1 foot from his face when he lands and then just rein charge him into a wall for easy kill.

He was never that strong
Stop lying

AKJ saying only zbra and chipsa can make current doom work aka admitting doom is currently trash ?!?!?!?!?!?!

Your skepticism doesn’t change facts. Rofl. The facts are the Devs said that HP changes are the most signifigant in affecting winrates of heroes.

Wow so insensitive. You still have to one trick Mercy and pocket doom, or you face losing, wouldn’t you love that?

Just had one dps and both supports asking me to swap Doom because “You don’t frontline”, I was in front of the team the entire game (doing the most in the team), they just got farmed because they couldn’t use a corner to get cover so what did both supports do? Stop healing me then afk, still asked to report me to the enemy team, boy do I love playing on a plat smurf account, people are so good down there

As a tank main, I hate him as tank. I’ve during the beta that he’s way too bad to be a tank. He’s got no tanking tools and is still all about jumping in, only deals no real damage. So, in the end, he does nothing.

I mean it as he either dominate, or throw. No middle ground of dueling him back then. (OW1)
Your team either getting destroyed by doom, or doom die to single person over and over and do nothing.

To be honest, while Doom is underperforming, he is still very good with the right team. Keeping people off the point in certain KotH maps is easy with him. If he has the support and the DPS do their own job perfectly

not really in this case. if you play a hero you’re fine at, which is often the case, but have a bad game, you aren’t throwing. throwing is deliberately playing poorly, so quite different.

I would rather play against a top500 doom than a top500Sniper, the anger at doom was more of an emotional one than it was a legitimate one

Nothing about him in ow1 screamed tank yet they still reworked him over mei :man_facepalming:t3:

I’ve had really great Dooms on my team and the enemy. But if you’re dying more than you’re killing, time to think about changing your strategy. This goes for any hero someone is playing.

Doomfist had a bunch of synergy in terms of style. He explodes trying to go into an enemy team with low HP which is something a tank wants to do since they have extra HP. He cause disruption by having lots of CC in his old kit. His CC is really meant to be on tanks and is a way to reduce CC in the game putting it on tanks. A great deal of people disliked playing against Doomfist given all the CC & high dmg on easy to use abilities, so moving him to tank is a way to justify lowering his damage output and make him less annoying to play against.

Mei moving to tank has some logic to it, but she’s also a supportive bulky DPS. She’s arguably one of the only technical DPS remaining that isn’t just about shoot gun and nothing else. Woudl suck to lose her in the DPS roster as a bulky pick to make when your tank sucks at frontlining and holding objectives.

Its nice to have some hybrids in each role.

Honestly, another massive issue with Overwatch 2 was the removal of the star difficulty rating in hero descriptions. Yeah they weren’t updated, or were subject to context but they go and remove it entirely while also pushing this whole casual f2p stuff. New players unlock heroes in order of increasing difficulty, according to devs, with no reminders.

Nothing about Mei screams tank either. Oh, she’s got a wall, good, now she’s blocked her team too. If they moved her to tank they’d have an excuse to give her freeze on primary and that was the worst thing in the game (worse than mass rez or lock-on Symmetra). And despite what the internet might tell you, she’s not thicc enough to be a tank. She can’t shield anything with her body. DF at least is somewhat of a big boi.

She has more team protection and self protection that doom alongside a more impactful cc ult and cc primary.
She is easily the better hero to rework into a tank.

No one asks me to swap Doomfist cos I do so well with him in his current perceived “trash state”. And I got so used to this trash state through practice in deathmatch that it went from trash to good state. So let’s wait and see how much better I perform once my good state Doomfist gets buffed in a few days.

He’s gonna be buffed to become even more of a punch bot.
Boring.
