Ideas to make competetive actually competetive

Lets start of with introducing different ques for team and solo players. Getting teams play vs solo que people is just right down unfair. I dont care if they have higher SR. They will have better communication, team work and play than any solo que person.

Second, lets make the rewards based on ranked instead of games played. Remove the ‘‘get point for free when the season is over, sit at your rank lol’’ bull. Make the game wins rewarding, not your rank. Also, give players a reason to play well. Create good rewards based on rank, like a skin you can buy above diamond. Its the same as in world of warcraft arena or raids. If the rewards are awesome you will try to do well.

Third, make the rank gains and losses smaller. Im talking like 3 points per win or loss. Right now the ranked landscape is a literal cluster **** where people of unearned ranks ruin the experience completely without getting punished in the slightest. This should make it feel less punishing to lose when you have a smurf who cant play in your game and also give you a chance to rank up with pride if you are dedicated. The rewards you buy are just there to show it off.

Fourth, Do a complete sr reset. There are too many players who got to a rank on their main that somehow got the same rank on their off role because the system wasnt smarter. They need to be removed from that rank or you will very soon have a competetive shooter where no one cares about strategy or team play because it doesnt matter. The game will die because players dont know how its supposed to be played.

Fifth, stop catering to everyone in competetive. Its named competetive because its for those who want to try hard, not the randoms who log in occassionaly to get a giggle. They are not emotionally invested and couldnt care less if they ruin the experience for the people who like the game.

Last, update your ranking system. Place people where they are based on the communitys skill level. You have the data and should be able to make assumptions. A new system would place smurfs in the right tier straight away if they perform well aswell as make placements with a clean sr slate be painless. This would also make smurfing completely meaningless as you would just end up where your main is. This would also require a account game history to be erased to make sure your rank is where you are at today, not three years ago.

Get your crap together. Youve left this game in the same state for four years. Dont expect people to play your games when you are less invested then they are and then think they will pay you money for it.

Splitting up the community will increase queue times, the system is already trying to split it as much as possible though when this doesn’t happen it means there aren’t enough players available.

This makes it the opposite of competitive.
Competitive is a mode you should only play if you want to, this way you’re just going to lure in people who only do it for the rewards… which could actually make it worse.

Jeff already regrets golden guns, so no more rewards honestly.

This is probably a bug.
It’s normal SR gain/loss can change by a bit, though if it drops down to a small number it usually is to a problem in the MMR calculation.

The current system is built around “New account, new player”

Meaning the account will think when you have an uncalculated MMR number it will not be strict at first.

Overtime it becomes way more precise, so resetting it would just make it les precise.

Oh and this won’t increase team play at all, trust me the community isn’t that social with each other on all rankings.
Best thing to do is group up rather than force the community to change in a way that won’t really do anything.

This game is mainly marketed around the Competitive side and Esports part.

Blizzard devs already cater too much to the top % (Masters - GM and League players) meaning the joy for the average rankings is less.

Yes it might be competitive and yes it might not be a casual match, a game is a game so enjoy it.

Oh and apart from that, the majority of the players are in average rankings, these also play matches seriously. Though if they keep on catering to the higher part of the competitive players then alot of players would leave… meaning the game would die faster.

You have an issue with it, yet again don’t force the community to change because you can group up.

Smurfs throw, they manipulate the system. If what you are suggesting is something that would place them in a higher ranking after being in that lower ranking then this would make boosting easier.

Your MMR goes up with your ranking, so it’s not “outdated” it’s actually very precise.

If you think it’s not precise because it has old data then that doesn’t make any sense… no data is not useful compared to alot of account data.
You think you should be placed higher whilst that’s wrong, the system we currently have is fine and you think you deserve better.

Unless people come up with their selfish solutions in which they don’t think about the community as a whole.

Try to enforce player behavior and kill off the community and fun of a game.

This definetly is not the way.

Six stack only to queue. Add clans.

I agree with the goal of this thread, but none of your proposals address the fundamental problem with competitive play, which is the hidden handicapping system (Match Making Rating). I have written extensively about the problem here:
