I was Master 5 on my last game before my set finishes, I won the match, then it showed me as Diamond 5 ranking up to Diamond 2. This made no sense, did it just derank me 5 ranks out of nowhere to rank me back up?? I was 5 wins and 3 losses for this set, even if deranking made sense, I would’ve dropped at most to Diamond 1, not to Diamond 2. Make this make sense blizzard.

Yeah it’s a known bug. Happens to tons of people. It’s a really serious bug, i mean the biggest there really is. Makes playing competitive absolutely useless if you never know when a bug will just demote you 5 tiers. It’s been happening to ppl for months. That is truly game breaking.
It drops you 5 tiers literally wasting all your time. Why isn’t this fixed yet
You are not alone in experiencing this bug. Assuming your win-loss ratio is positive, you might be experiencing the bug in which during a rerank, your initial rank is demoted five subdivisions before the adjustment takes place.
