I did blame them for being “oppressed” because China understands what happens when you leave that unchecked as a religious political movement. They are smart; they won’t tolerate it.
I am pretty sure that contracts can’t limit your freedom of speech in any country with a democracy that deserves to be called one.

Besides labeling, tell me how exactly? That I pointed out that China still offers more freedoms and is far less guilty than this kangaroo court of misinformed public opinion makes it out to be. So you genuinely believe that the majority of the 12 million ethnically Uighur population of Xinjiang are religious fanatics who are advocating separatism?
How about the fact that they’ve culturally, historically and politically been closer to Central Asia than China… Not to mention, practicing your faith hardly makes you a separatist…

Read the thread and you will understand the context. The point is these people are holding a country to their standard; they are all happy to throw a country that is far more free and tolerant than they even realize. Its okay to disagree, but so far its all “nahahaha I don wanna hear” comments.

I have done no such thing, but nice try. Literally, everyone in this thread piling on China is guilty of the same things against China. You all are literally doing exactly that. I have merely pointed out how 1) they are not as bad as many other regimes, 2) why they feel the need to tamp down on particular movements and 3) they really don’t qualify as a typical dictatorship.
