This is about as anti-Torb bias as I have ever seen, worse it indicates a lot of misunderstanding about the character.
My favorite line " A few cheap arced shots for luck"… right, no skill involved in predicting an arc shot with a slow projectile against a moving target… go back to your wrist flick hit scan bro. I understand you have issues with turrets, but I think you need to watch some videos of decent torbs to appreciate the character a bit more. Its like watching a silver or gold genji player spam double jump and shuriken fan and think that’s how you run the character effectively.
I’d honestly like to see QOL changes and buffs for Bastion since once you learn how to handle him he basically can;t do anything if his team isn’t designed around him being there.
Would you like to calm down? Sorry to offend you but you’re overreacting AND assuming my mains.
Check my hours. You will see that statement you made is wrong. Also, I say cheap in a differnt context to you. Are you American? Im british, i use the word cheap in a different way. Cheap shots to me is “quick” as in throw a few cheap ones and dash.
Also this is slightly incorrect - Jeff did not say this had anything to do with lower tiers… lets not conflate the point here. After they tightened up Bastions accuracy with sustained fire, he’s actually seen as better higher up… as much as I personally would like to see him re-balanced to where his Sentry mode is weaker a bit and his Recon stronger, that is not likely.
I don’t believe Bastion needs a rework, what he needs is more people to understand he’s not meant to sit in Sentry mode all the time, he needs to stay mobile and spend more time in Recon mode… his real unacknowledged power is his ability to self-heal… that is huge…
They also have said not a while a go that they feel that this game feels pretty balanced just like it is.
Heroes what we have now, doesnt need any reworks.
Just cause people cry about heroes they doesnt like, it doesnt mean that those heroes/that heroes has ‘‘low pickrates’’ doesnt mean that theyre gonna rework them buddy.
They should just combine torb with bastion into 1 character - “BasterTorb” bottom half torb and top half bastion (turret with legs) The combined playerbase would mean it’s played more often. You only need to balance one character now every year
I said he was seen as better, not that he was truly viable. No question he is better because he is more reliable. Don’t say he didn’t move an inch, that is incorrect. He’s seen a bit more now than he was previously, mostly due to bunker comps.
You’re entitled to your opinions, they are not fact. The best Bastions don’t over-rely on Sentry mode, that however is a fact.
These sound so wrong and would make Bastion outright OP in lower/mid ranks and especially due to the ongoing Bunker comp…
Bastion’s current terrible design pretty much only allows him to either receive nerfs, because if his recent interactions with Bunker, or a complete rework from the ground up…
A rework that should make him less situational and over - reliant to shield tanks, should boost his survivability and make him a more skill full pick overall…
So, since his Sentry mode and Ironclad passive are the parts of his kit that are the most problematic, then what the developers should really do would be to nerf his sentry mode and buff his Recon mode, so that the focus is shifted to his primary and that becomes the main way of dealing damage for most players.
Bastion is really powerful but a teambased hero. I think he’s a pretty balanced hero, but a powerful pick in some cases. In high-ranked play such as OWL, he does seem pretty powerful, but it’s more of the comp than the hero itself.
Bastion is weak. He’s been in a tough spot for a long time. Even in gold he’s not a challenge in bunker to delete. He mainly needs more durability to compensate for sentry mode. Extra shield or barrier ability when he’s not in that mode like Magy talked about
