I saw a Doom main crying about Moira

being hit by a moira orb that she threw in a random direction that bounced and happened to go in your direction after you thoroughly outplayed the enemy is complete BS, lets be honest now.

It’s the DPS-main mentality. A disease where you believe you should be killing everyone in one shot, getting PotG all the time and using “and dey say” good 5-6 times after each kill, but everything that kills you is broken, imba, OP, or hacking.

You mean by coming out of nowhere and landing two hits in a matter of second? Real “outplaying” there…

Orb moves as fast as every other hero, I’ve avoided it numerous times and only taken about 10-15 damage from it. You were so close to having an actual point, but only killed it by not knowing how her orb works :frowning:

becuase he’s a high rank dps player! he can’t do anything wrong!

both heroes are bad idk what to tell you

One gets shields for literally everything it does, DPS doesn’t care at all.

Moira has a fade and self heal, but also counters bad positioning and rogue dps (Flankers), and the forums ignite into a NERF MOIRA mob, complete with e-pitchforks and e-torches.

There was a Moira dmg orb OP thread the other day where the OP provided video evidence. It was the orb doing about 10 damage to him. :scream:

1~2 ticks isn’t 50-100dps… like if they did then you’re suggesting a tick happens every 0.5s-1s…which is pretty infrequent and most heroes can get out of the the 5m tether range before that esp with movement abilities:

e.g. if I can get away with sym tp that has a 2s delay as seen in the clip below, why wouldn’t heroes with instant movement abilities not not be able to?

Doom and Moira are both dumb heroes.

“Here’s something that may or may not have happened about a doomfist player, but let’s just join hands in hating this hero anyway!”

Didnt we cover this about a month ago…

I mean if I count the number of toxic Moira’s in my game versus the toxic Doom’s Moira’s would heavily outweigh… love talking about them medals…

I mean Moira is not anywhere near underpowered lol … but if anything the ball is the only ability that really takes precision or thinking about angles… I mean if there was a nerf maybe it should move slower but not move slower when it damages… i dunno

Doom makes it so you can’t be near a wall. Widow makes it so you can’t be in an open space.
And now Moira makes it so you can’t be indoors? This is starting to get ridiculous. And the only path that isn’t met with instant death is indoors, forcing Moira to have value.

But the problem isn’t even that. The problem is CC.
Just don’t go indoors? Okay. Just dodge? Okay. Half your team gets halted, Orb now deals its full damage. Dodge the Halt? Okay, but you can’t dodge every CC, and it’s everywhere. Toss it at a CC’ed target, and easy full damage.
Her Orb has a lot of damage in part because it can’t deal that full potential damage… …but then endless CC comes in to kill that drawback. That’s the issue: CC.

This is the clip in question. He dove hanzo at full health. He got hit by something else to 1 health, then dropped off the balcony down to his own team. He could not have gotten hit by D.va spam, because he’s not in line of sight of any enemies, he’s behind cover. He only dies because there just happens to be a random moira orb. The moira didn’t plan it, it wasn’t some big brain prediction. It was literally just luck. And this isn’t a rare occurrence that only happens once every hundred games, it’s pretty common.

Exactly. It’s a no-brain fire and forget ability to get lucky kills with, on a support. That’s literally the problem, thanks for admitting it.

orb damage splits between targets… so if its half of team then total damage will be 200 / 3 = 66 per target… funny numbers
damage orb is really strong skill but only vs single targets and you need to stay in orb radius for 4sec to recieve full damage and get deserved death =)

even with his supposed orb rework of it sticking on the second surface it hits, it’ll still get this “lucky kills” just like a single sym turret on a pathway or a torb ult. like i said, it did as it intended of peeling enemy hp, DF was just unlucky enough to have one hp left after his skirmish with hanzo.

and as i’ve said, the orbs mobility plays into the orb’s downside as well. the orb could’ve just gone past the enemy team. but in his orb rework idea, while it does increase the skill ceiling of the orb (having to decide which surface the orb sticks to) it doesn’t necessarily lower the skill floor (the base of it is throwing it out and hoping for the best). his rework idea wouldn’t change people’s perception of moira being “low skill” and if anything the added skill ceiling will make her more reason to be played. the only reason it’s pretty common now is because of the increase in moira’s pickrate. changing the nature of the orb won’t do anything about that (just like for example symmetra who’s been reworked to be extremely aim reliant amongst other things still being called a braindead hero, by virtue of their turrets)

and so what if it’s a supposed “no-brain fire and forget ability”, torb and sym has those and they’re supposed to help peel and for area-denial. moira’s supposed to be an anti-flanker esque support, that’s her design - peel and survivability instead of team based utility.

huehue funny and useful
Next.

I know exactly how Orb works bro - if the orb move as a fast as an average moving hero, there is a good chance they will be in range for .5 to 1.5 seconds… easily enough time to rack up 100 damage. Don’t try to be condescending - it’s not called for and yes, you can evade it if you even see it, but you will take damage and getting 100 DPS is quite common. I never said it as guaranteed all the time, lord you Moira defenders will go to the most extremes to make a point in contrast to the average realities of the kit in practice. I should not be surprised.
