Yes there are this type of bad supports, i get them banned various time in years, is basically the most, if not only reports i do and ban report i get, in some months.
They try to find excuse, usually blatantly lying or insulting directly.
The best thing is not waste arguing with them and report without even talking with them.
You only give them an opportunity to do a fake report talking with them.
If you overextend, trickle, or beg for sustain during a lost fight - you shouldn’t be getting healed.

But the truth is usually this type of support are distracted, doing dps when not the right time or do only dps, heal only their friend(usually dps and ignore the tanks) and so on.
And if you say something they even do fake report, so is better report them and say nothing.

You are on a team of 6 - against a six. There are four other people aside from yourself and that specific support that may just as well need healing - but you don’t see that.
I’m often very skeptical of my supports especially when I beg for healing - and it’s only when I reflect on what I did or what was happening - do I realise that I was the one to mess up, not them.
Again this is one of the excuse this type of bad supports using.
The truth is they are prioritizing their friends or doing dps.
There are even some bad supports not healing specific heroes.
The truth is: you are generalising players because you feel entitled to healing without seemingly understanding the core aspect of this game that you “seem” to be upset about.

Stop generalising players, and look at what you are doing to see if you’re putting yourself in a position that will allow the supports to heal you.

If a specific role of the team is not doing is work and for support is alot evident they are doing something bad, the team can’t work.
This bad supports, must be reported on sight and always better not talking with them for the risk of fake reports.

Really supports hiding and aren’t behind the team are useless, like some mercy and ana stay more far they can from tank and dps and then they blame the team for being flanked.
Specially this two heroes are the ones i get confirmed bans more.

When you see an ana or mercy stay behind at max range they can achieve healing hiding or prioritizing only their friends(specially true for mercy), maybe blaming the team for being killed by flankers, there is no need of talking with them, you can simple report.

In my experience, supports heal people badly injured in their line of sight while screaming in terror the whole time wondering why are the enemy Doomfist, Winston and Tracer chasing them and if someone is going to do something about it.
If by friends, you mean the tanks actually trying to protect the point, then yeah. They tend to be considered as friends. Far more than the DPS “flanking” who knows where.
Sure you may not be throwing for playing Mercy with Rein/Zarya, and it is certainly possible to win doing so, but Lucio is just so much better with Rein/Zarya than Mercy is.
To heal the tank, you just better pick Ana, Bap or Moira. Healing tanks was her job back in 2016 not now

Not really, they usually ignore the tanks and go behind friend dps, mercy are the worst in this, but i see even ana doing this thing.
Sure they scream because they are so far from the team they are easy target for flankers and similar.
The problem is bad supports prefer doing dps/help friends instead help team.
I doubt there are some vods, is 2-3 months i stopped totally playing.
I was talking of years of playing, this behaviour of bad supports isn’t something new.
Bad support heal only friends/do only dps/hide away from the team and blame for flank kill them.
Is a behaviour very old, like overexting dps/camping with wrong heroes dps or coward tanks/overexting tanks.
The fact is bad supports are reported more often and can be banned more quickly.
