Hitscan snipers are actually pretty rare in video games. Most snipers have bullet drop and bullet travel time. Only other shooter I can think of with hitscan sniper is quake, and the sniper became part of the holy trinity; one of the best 3 weapons in the game. Oh yeah halo had it too, but when everyone has access to the sniper, it’s balanced.
