I think a large majority would prefer Dive over this. The people that don’t usually say it’s because it stayed for too long.
Definitely was fun to me though.

I’m just tired of grav-dragonstrike combos and being stunned every 5 seconds because it’s impossible for baguette to miss shield bash on the main tank😤

I’ll admit, Dive was really only an issue at higher ranks/MMR, whereas this new meta of Snipers & Stuns seems pretty prevalent across all ranks and is pretty oppressive to diverse playstyles. Which is kind of ironic, because you’d think with all the gibber-gabbering about how much skill sniping takes that it would only be useful at the end of the curve, not throughout it.

You never know if a hanzo actually tried killing you or just spammed at your teams direction

Double Sniper is way more oppressive than any other meta, it feels horrible to have games almost decided on 2 players for each team at high ranks. Its going to be even worse to watch
Tbh i still playing tracer only this meta and shes pretty decent on plat vs snipers…
who is a second sniper tho? widow and…
if you think hanzo, he’s not a sniper, he’s junkrat 2…just spamming shoots and getting kills…you don’t even have to aim

Thing is he’s still great at long range due to no fall-off damage, specially in a good players hands. He and widow set up a crossfire thats almost unbeatable.
I hate this meta so much I’m probably going to wait until the final week to place my main.
All ranks? I don’t agree with that. Snipers tend to “now or never”
well its mainly because hanzo is so easy and forgiving to play, the ease it takes to play hanzo makes him a priority target which leaves the widow on her own and even a bad widow can do something if left all alone with no pressure

ya, next season. This season sucks but next season will be worse as it will be even more double sniper

I will agree. As much as I had enough of dive, as it stayed so long, dying instantly the moment you walk around a corner isn’t that much fun either.
I loathed the dive meta. Especially more so as a support main.
But if I had to choose between what we have now and the dive meta, I would much rather go back to the dive meta.
It is so extremely disheartening that it’s almost impossible to do anything as a healer currently. To heal through the damage output that exists in the game right now is ridiculously hard, and half the time you feel like you’re trying your absolute hardest but it isn’t enough.
Dive meta was hated because it existed for too long. If it only stuck around for one, two seasons maximum, it would not have the reputation it does now.

Sorry but as a support player being dived by the whole team and deleted while being able to do nothing about it was cancer at its finest. I hated dive meta. At least in sniper meta if I stay behind the large rectangle I can play the game.

And yeah I agree, I looked forward to this season because of the meta shift initially but both triple support and double sniper are less fun to play in in pretty much every regard, if it’s more of the same I’ll just place at the end of the season for the free purple points
Personally I find it more disheartening to watch someone i’m actively healing get oneshot with nothing I can do about it, and knowing that trance does nothing because two people pressed Q and one pressed RMB. You can provide sustain through dive, you can’t do the same vs widow and hanzo instagibbing everyone.
I’m just along for the ride to spam gravdragon to win. ResidentSleeper
