if you want you can just run the interaction again
stalling a tank while your team takes point is very valueable
Well he kinda is considering he did a braindead play he should of died for and got away with is life. Also I get what you mean to an extent but we were talking about actually killing one in a 1v1 Best example I can give is in OW1 he could mess up and use his take a breather early giving you a decent window of oppurtunity to burst him down however in OW2 he cant really even make that mistake
well his life doesnt win the game the objective does, if youre 1v1ing on point making him run away practically wins that fight, forcing him to group with his respawning team, if your 1v1ing him off point then making him run away keeps him from helping his team push point, either way if you punish him correctly you win the interation
Ok lets say its a teamfight and everyone is dead besides me and the hog. If I kill him maybe 4-5 seconds after the fight that is a massive stagger to the enemy team and we can kinda snowball of that and take more space/cart progress but if he lives he ends up contesting since I cant really get close to him and his mistake goes unpunished. He isnt going to run away and regroup with his team he will prob just duck around a corner for like 2 seconds and fully heal then return right away
in that specific scenario how would it be any different from ow1, if you fought a hog after both teams were dead you would still be at a disadvantage and risking staggering yourself, sure it would be easier to possibly kill the hog in ow1 but most likely the interaction would stay the same of if you bait hook you can maybe outrange and kill him but he can most likely get away with heal
Even then though, people misremember how strong they were. They really weren’t that much weaker. Weaker yes, but even in OW1 1v1ing a tank was unwise.
In OW1 heal was a cooldown and not a resource so if he messed up you can push him and kill him with 5 or so headshots as cass but in OW2 its a resource and comboed with that he has hs reduction passive making it even harder. There is some tanks imo that can still be punished like Zarya for example since if her bubbles are down and shes in the open its over for her, But the vast majority of the rest are very hard to punish
yes ive played this game since 2017 i know how hog worked but with hook being even more powerful back in ow1 and hog had less range back then after he misses the hook he is likely to just back off in a 1v1, if he did force that fight as long as you dont get to close youre pretty likely to win but if a hog takes that same fight in ow2 after missing hook as long as you maintain distance youre still very likely to kill him the interaction is the same just harder in ow2, the only thing that could change this interaction is back in ow1 you could stun the heal as 2 different dps wow but you would have to be close enough to get 1 shot so its still not really an advantages fight
do you play tank? honest question.
Yes, i’m the best Mauga in NA
To salvage the tank role in this format they turned them into raid bosses. Ever since the latest round of changes, Tanks can make the biggest misplay in the world, but unless half the team turns on them in that moment they’ll get away with it.
Least in my games that’s been happening. I’m sure in like, the metal ranks they still instantly explode sometimes.
