I’m tired of being in bronze

It’s the end of the season. Another one spent in bronze. I need some tips to escape. Could anyone help me? Thanks.

Get better at the game. Really the only thing you can do is play more and it will come naturally.

Looking at your stats on OverBuff, it seems that you’re not playing as well where you could get out of bronze.

Here what you can do: Try recording your videos and have others to point out things you need to look out for and what to do.

Watch videos of how other pros play the games, learn new skills and practice. You will climb eventually. You are in bronze for a purpose, don’t let a rank be a discouragement. Everyone is ranked where they are for a reason.

Play with a buddy or group. Can definitely help.

Pick a hero and get really good at them. Best way to do this is to record your gameplay and watch it, try to look for mistakes you made and maybe even write them down if it helps you remember. Even if you cant do this just focus on your own gameplay and dont worry about lost sr. Bottom line, if you make less mistakes, you will climb.

I recently just got out of bronze myself. Supports I think are the easiest way to climb. Even a dumbass teammate will eventually make a kill if you can keep them alive long enough. Not many people know how to support well.

Conversely, tanks are the hardest to rank up with, and DPS after that.

The other tip that helped me was to stick with my teammates and protect them when I don’t play support. Yeah, you can go off and get an amazing 4-man kill as reaper or whoever you play on your own, but its more helpful to shoot down the man about to kill your own almost every time.

Video tutorials always say stay alive is the most important thing in overwatch, but I disagree. Keeping your team alive is the most important, no matter how dumb they seem. You can’t keep them alive if your dead, but they are your priority, not the enemy, nor yourself.

All I can really say.

Play soldier and carry. You don’t even have to rely on healers if you position yourself properly

This. High ground, average aim, biotic field. Profit.

I don’t think that your need to worry too much about stuff like team compositions, bronze is just too random anyway. You should mainly focus on getting better mechanically. Look at some guides on how to play heroes, chances are that you might learn something new that could help you a lot.
The most important thing is staying alive, if you don’t get enough healing pick a hero that can self heal. But the thing that will help you the most to stay alive is your positioning. Try avoiding line of sight with more enemies than needed, try going behind shields if there are any. If you are playing a healer always try staying out of the enemy line of sight. As dps getting on the highground is very beneficial because they will have a harder time hitting you and you will have a easier time hitting them. I’m not really sure what to say about tanks in bronze, people won’t go behind your shield so idk.
Never ever go into the enemy team when you are alone, always try to regroup with your team before a fight.
Think about how you use your ultimates, if you lost 2-3 teammates while none of the enemy died, it would probably be a waste to use it.
Play around with your mouse sensitivity, there are plenty of guides that can help.
Try focusing the enemy healers.
If you are on attack the payload heals you, also you can use it for cover.
Record your gameplay if you can and watch it afterwards to see your own mistakes.
Hope some of those tips will help.

Practice more with your most-played heroes and learn what you can or cannot do with them. Focus to only 1 hero at a time when learning the limits of your heroes.

Play a hero with strong self sustain abilities, like soldier or roadhog. You can’t rely on your teammates for anything at that elo, so you need to be able to heal yourself. Also a lot of heroes that are mostly unusable in higher tiers due to people being able to aim and have game sense are OP at bronze level. Such as symmetra, mei, torb, pharahBrigitte and bastion.

I’m not going to say git gud because that is rude and also a fallacy that you need to get good to climb through ranks. The most effective way to climb is to identify which heroes are OP at your elo and abuse them

Actively think about what you’re doing right/wrong, what you could’ve done better, what you shouldn’t have done, etc. while playing. No matter how often you play the game, if you dont find ways to better your gameplay (whether it’s subconscious or voluntary) you simply won’t improve. If you’re having trouble finding out what you’re doing wrong, watching streamers specialising in the roles I play has personally helped me improve my gameplay a lot. You could also post VODs of your gameplay on places like r/OverwatchUniversity where people will give you constructive criticism.

Concerning which heroes you should play to climb, just play whatever you have the most success with and/or you’re the most comfortable on. The meta doesn’t matter that much for us low ranked scrubs.

learn to counter pick… if someone say their genji is tearing you guys up, counter him immediately… brig/moira/winston…

or if pharah is tearing you, 76/Mc/Widow

its all about the counter picking.

Two more losses and I’ll be joining you bro! I’ve just come to accept that I suck. It’s OK. There are other things in life I’m good at.

guys the SR system is not perfect… i have 3 dif accounts and 2 dif. ranks… if the SR system was anywhere near accurate wouldnt all my accounts be the same SR?

No because the SR system is based on how many games you won not how skillful you are at the game. If it were about skills, players that do good in their placements wouldn’t be placed low. The most recent example is Kabaji being placed in platinum.

Best advice to get out of bronze learn to survive. You probably are dying way too much. Get you KDR to AT LEAST 2.5-1 preferably 3-1

Most bronze players that I have seen have sub 2-1 KDR

Honestly, my best advice is to just learn how to kill without dying. That means taking favorable fights, and learning when and how to retreat. Focus on the deathmatch modes until you are good enough to consistently place in the top 4, or, TDM and you can get gold elims consistently on winning teams. You’ll naturally learn how to win fights which is what’s most important. Once you get to Silver, it will be about how to win team fights going forward.

make a smurf account

ive been playing 1 month, made 2 accounts one placed in plat the other in gold.

Do you play xbox or PC? Im on xbox. I’m happy to try and help or give pointers.

I’m not super high rank or anything but know the feeling. Maybe if someone a little higher up can see a vod or play with you they can kind of give you a couple pointers
