“I’m a Reinhardt main”

The clarity of how out of touch you are with how balance works shines through that last statement.

Lets start with how only top tier will play any other tank then Reinhardt.

Game is found:
I pick Reinhardt to start the game. My team is attack on Kings Row (my favorite btw). At the choke I see Widowmaker, Hanzo, Genji and Ashe. I immediately charge in to attempt a pick, draw fire and eventually die.
But why would I do that? Well, anyone who read their lineup I wrote knows exactly why. I will re-spawn as Winston and solo carry at the minimum the first point.

How?

Winston not only counter these heroes but is incredibly strong against them on multiple aspects of the game. He disrupts there sight picture simply by jumping on them. He has the mobility to keep up with all of them. His health and shielding compliments further disruption of their sight picture and ability to connect with targets. Winston is as anti sniper as it gets, Genji is just icing on the cake.

Does this mean, “The very top tier players”, I am a top tier player?
Um, no. I remain throughout the spectrum of Platinum (At least until I move out of Alaska where I have better ping).

Then how is it I know that Winston counters these heroes so effectively?
Because I play tanks, that’s why. I don’t care if its Reinhardt or Winston, or any of them save Roadhog. I don’t like Roadhog.

You, Jessika, come here to tell us all how it is.

But you lack the fundamental knowledge about;

  1. Why Reinhardt is strong
  2. What makes other tanks strong
  3. What nerfs Reinhardt would need to make it so

isn’t true anymore.

The simple of it is you don’t know what nerfs Reinhardt should get because you are unaware of the strengths and weaknesses of each tank respectively.

My numbers (Quick Play only)

Reinhardt - 497 Hours
Orisa - 66 Hours
D.Va - 50 Hours
Winston - 38 Hours
Zarya - 3 Hours
Wrecking Ball - 14 Minutes
Roadhog - 6 Minutes

Outside of Wrecking Ball and Roadhog I have a fairly strong grasp on when and why to use each tank. I wish I had more time on Zarya, but a side effect of playing so much Reinhardt is it allows other people to play Zarya to max effectiveness. I get many Zarya off tanks on hero select limiting my exposure.

I do not deny that Reinhardt has a solid place in the META. Removing some of his power doesn’t create a tank vacuum where he will be replaced by another tank. My usage should be validation of this. No other tank can do what he can do and in his absence he will not be replaced by another tank.
