So do the FOUR DPS characters that are being out damaged by a support Sym.
So you’re saying that leaving a competitive match, thus doing your own self a disservice, and then blaming others for it is acceptable? Really?
It sounds hypocritical if you ask me.
You only did yourself a disservice by leaving - incurring a penalty, ensuring 5-11 other people report you.
The obsession with people 1-tricking Symmetra is getting old, especially when it is acknowledged by the developers through multiple reworks that her current iteration is not sufficient in this game.
A team of 6 people with 2 or more refusing to cooperate = defeat, regardless of the specifics.
Sym is basically just a 5th DPS. You can’t complain about people not picking good roles if you yourself don’t pick one either.
For all we know she is just doing damage but not getting kills, which feeds enemy support ult charge. Just throwing around gold damage in a vacuum is a horrible way to say that someone is doing well.
You seem to be ignoring the fact that four other players were essentially sabotaging the game before he even left. They refused to play anything other than DPS and then couldn’t even play their role correctly.
Exactly. Claiming that having a gold medal means everyone else is the problem is the perfect example of bad attitides that are rampant in this game.
Medals are never the whole story, 100% agree. I also agree (but didn’t for a long time) that one-tricks are not welcome in competitive.
If anyone was wondering, I don’t one-trick Symm, she’s my 4/5th most played this season
I noticed, i was adressing a post that was discussing one tricks above. You could play Sym 75% of the time and Torb the other 25% and I really wouldn’t mind that much, it’s just one-tricks that get my blood boiling lol.
If you can’t handle what you know is coming to you for what you’re doing you more than likely should stop doing it because you know people don’t like it
This is pretty much complaining about the kids not liking you in the sandpit because you find it fun to throw sand in their face when you know they don’t like it
The worlds an unfair place and you might have all gold medals but people care about that as much as you cared about having a good team comp
And OP refused to play anything other than Symmetra. The difference is the other 4 didn’t abandon the match.
Playing what you want =/= sabotage. Playing a DPS hero isn’t sabotage. And then OP picks Symmetra, someone who can’t heal the team and doesn’t tell us if the other player picked tank or healer.
Picking Symmetra puts very little use on the team. She hardly has useful defense, she doesn’t heal, and she’s only good at locking down a tiny area of the map. Him picking Symmetra in her current state is, by your logic, just as much throwing as the others picking 4 DPS (OP would have technically been the 5th DPS).
it doesnt matter, they left the game, a sign of a good sport is staying till the end, no matter what
XD
This is why people get upset and leave games.
Here’s another great example of someone I’ve seen playing in QP. They were Moira and they weren’t healing anyone at all. Our 2nd healer called them out on it and I kid you not, the Moira said “Moira is made for killing. She’s basically a Tracer who can heal on the side.”
This crap wouldn’t fly in any other game than Overwatch. Imagine going into an end game raid on WoW and your tanks tell everyone “Sorry guys, I’m going to do DPS instead of tanking.”
A role is a role. Please play the role that you picked.
Then why didn’t you swap to fill the team’s needs?
See, you expect others to swap then don’t do it.
You can’t complain about people not picking good roles if you yourself don’t pick one either
I agree, and I didn’t complain about that
when people ask for 2-2-2 and don’t switch (for example) I tell them “do it yourself or zip it”
I’ll remember this thread when, in a week, you’re complaining about being banned from comp for the season.
Except Sym doesn’t have the ability to heal. She is much more of a defense character than a support one. OP would have been much better off picking an actual support or a tank, but instead they chose what they wanted to play over what the team needed, just like the 4 other DPS.
“See, you expect others to swap then don’t do it.”
I never said that. Hero choice was not my issue, it was my teammates who brought it up.
“OP picks Symmetra, someone who can’t heal the team and doesn’t tell us if the other player picked tank or healer” - they were a tank.
To add to this, that rule goes both ways: Playing what you want whether it’s Sym or any other DPS is not sabotage. It’s a two-way street.
It’s true that Symmetra comes with more disadvantages than most, but it’s also true that given the opportunity Symmetra can contribute to the team.
It’s amazing to me as someone who plays a lot of Sym that anyone who plays Sym would try to accuse anyone else of sabotage. Like really, they should know what that feels like and know better.
