Yeah and Paladins has actually gained more players on average since January.
I am going to bet most of those are OW refugees.

It has actually been getting more players, which is why its all the more upsetting.
Ive been a very dedicated paladins player for around 5 years now, and id even say i prefer it to overwatch.
Unfortunately, not that, nor its success, player numbers or any of that actually matters, because of a little company called hi rez
Hi rez has a track record of making great games, just to let them die later. Paladins is bleeding devs rn, is getting very little resources, and is built in an old game engine that makes significant gameplay improvements impossible without a full overhaul, which hi rez is not willing to pay for.
Paladins is actually doing okay, and the few devs it has left are working extremely hard on it, but with no funding or support and devs constantly being moved to different flavors of the month that hi rez is making, paladins may live on for awhile but it can’t go anywhere but down at this point.

It also makes sense why many would rather continue to work from home.

If the game start gaining more attention because of OW’s incomitance, things may change.
We don’t even know why he left but either way it seems like he was the first to give up on the situation.
If going to go that way may as well not work for Blizzard at all.

Yes, Steamcharts shows the game exploded in players due either players getting fed up with Overwatch, the closure of Blizzard China, and / or the return of payload.
The game has so much potential, but is being squandered by Hi Rez management incompetence, lack of communication / leadership, and acting on feedback.
Syberbolt wrote a five page essay on his Twitter to both Evil Mojo and Hi Rez about needing to get their act together and capitalize on Blizzard’s vulnerability. Also telling them to stop depending only on Smite.

Yeah I have been watching a lot of the controversy and it looks bad. I would say that the only company that is as incompetent as Blizzard right now is Hi-Rez, but they honestly are full of talent and make great games on a low budget. I also like they are somewhat more transparent than Blizzard.
I have been trying Divine Knock Out, their latest game, and it shows they got an higher budget for this one. Is fun as hell and so smooth and polished.
You have no idea what the higher ups are putting workers through. This isn’t just about overwatch. People are about to lose their jobs because they want to force everyone to either work at the California location or quit. The higher ups are one of the reasons why ow2 was not completed in the first place.
i wonder if he still sits by the fireplace and recounts tales of old with his kids or grandkids or whatever
Lara i hope your not referring to Jeff as a coward as honestly from what ive heard he couldnt take it anymore with some individuals at blizzard HQ he was defending some employees and it became to much
i wouldnt say that, but I sure wish they had more than 1 gamemode…
I am just saying leaving your big project just before it gets released and telling everyone how much better it is going to be is the worst thing that one can do.

Would be pretty cool if someday ex Team 4 devs say what really happenned during ow2 development for once.
i think it is possible he left before whats going on would completely mentally destroy him as mental health is important
I guess we will never know.
It doesn’t help that we have no info of why he even left anyway.
