I just realized how spoilt we have all been

I mean no, comparing getting workshop to actual changes people have been asking for years now in competitive and QP is like a child that really wants a car and gets a bunch of art supplies and tiny car models to allow him to paint the car he actually wanted and ‘‘have fun’’ with it. Or even material and building instructions to so they can make a cardboard car for fun. And now everyone is calling it spoiled because its not jumping up and down from happiness.
People have been asking for some very basic quality of life improvements to comp for years now and got nothing.

Look it up, workshop wasnt a blizz huge project. It was a passion project by basically 2 workers who did it in their own creative work time. They started it in 2017 and it hasnt been touched for a year basically because no one cared about it, until they got another cycle of creative time to work on their own individual projects. The only reason it even took this long to do it was because blizz didnt care about it.

IKR, OP sounds like he/she would accept a mobile app to buy lootboxes and access your hero gallery to equip skins as content.

This line of thinking is severely flawed. By your logic, you can never criticize any form of media ever if you’ve never made an objectively good movie, game, or any art.

I don’t need to be an extremely talented indie game developer to know what’s a bad idea and what works.

By your logic, Sonic 06 is a Master Piece because I never made a video game in my life.

If you’re going to defend Blizzard, a multi billion dollar studio, you’re going to need a better argument than “Well, you never made a video game, so you can’t complain”.

Don’t give them ideas.

It doesn’t count if the content isn’t relevant to us. Replays are something that should’ve been in the game 2 years ago and workshop is completely irrelevant to me as I’m not even into the wonky brawls other than MH. What we want is heroes being balanced around their realistic potential on a monthly basis, improvements in matchmaking system, 2 more avoid slots and long-term social features like Clans/Guilds

Then they decided to nerf torbjörn and d.va and give us a huge editing feature that caters to the minority of playerbase and ate up a ton of their resources and time that they could’ve spent in a better way. It’s not about being entitled, it’s about knowing everyone’s place

In the opinions of “pros” and the “forum community”. In other words they’re probably really really good because the people you want the heck out of your game don’t like them.

This is gamers in general right now. With all this complaining, you would be surprised they ever have time to play and enjoy games. Are they even gamers at this point or just masochistic?

They only introduced stuff that doesn’t fix the game, the match maker and competitive. So, for me, all useless patchs.

Meanwhile comp is the same trainwreck it was last year being ruined by smurfs, throwers, leavers, awful team comps and lack of teamwork.

“So SpOiLt” lol

Yes.

Workshop. That don’t improve QoL of ow. (don’t get me wrong great addition but don’t improve what this game need)

and one of the worst patch ever (machine gun Mccree , Orisa win rate skyrocketed to the moon, if you don’t have Ana you’re struggling as hell… but hey let’s nerf torb secondary fire!)

here what games need:

Quickplay to me more enjoyable even for people that bought this game and don’t play comp (let’s call it a unranked mode)

Sr system rework for people that play comp (because the more I talk in my friend list it seems that if you go on a lose streak you’re damned to lose more and more sr while you gain small sr amount)

Making comp like is not to flip a coin

Deal with the smurf issue

Deal with cheaters.

Rework the endorsment system, now I am lev 1 and is because I don’t endorse anyone usually (in fact I don’t complain about it) but if most of the people play with friends they can’t endorse them and I doubt most of people will endorse a enemy. (happens but really rare)

Also I don’t see the point of the endorsment system (rather some more loot box… wich after some level become… meh)

we still have the same golden weapons after 3 years of game.

to much focus on owl and not on the majority of the community.

seems a lot of things to talk about instead of be silent all the time.

And for what i gather those are some thing everyone was asking for for at least a year and a half (im newish)

I know Blizzard dont do things like that but what kind of laziness is where the devs dont even make a roadmap? Literally every other online game developing company makes them. Dont need to be that huge just lets say (July - New Hero, Aug - Summer Games, September - New Feature, Comp issue fixes) or something like that.

I know you’re joking, but that actually would be a nice feature. It wouldn’t really be content, no, but it would be handy.

Oh, boy… Yeah. I can defend a lot of Sonic games. I can look at almost every single one of them and say at least one good thing. That one… Uh, no. Ive tried.

The only “good” thing I could say about it is: if you’re someone who enjoys playing terrible games, because of how terrible they are, then you’ll enjoy that game.

You know, like the people who intentionally watch bad movies, because they like to watch and make fun of bad movies. It’s kind of like that. But if you’re looking to actually enjoy yourself and want an actually good Sonic game, you could pick up almost any other title then Sonic 06 and feel 10 times better about.

an a actual good update. but does nothing for the base game. people who want some kind of change in comp are still lacking.

we were promised this feature in the first year of the game.have no idea what took blizz so long.

the problem with this game is that it was so fun we didn’t realize the molasses speed that they they updating their product.

when the novelty wore off. which for me was about a1.5 years. then i saw it, if this game continues at its current rate then it would drop off, and for me, it has

sure i still play this game… but my passion for it is long gone

they’ve done the bare minimum for events. hero releases are slow and as are stages. no new gameplay type has been added to the main set ex. like a tug of war on a payload. i mean they can’t even tell us lore, some of the fanbase would be happy with just that. but that too comes out slow as a snail

nope… nothing like that

and also brig. still mad

Can you give some examples? Because I haven’t seen anything bad come out of these last couple of months.

Don’t tell me to swap off Widow,
Coolbreeze

And they’re still developing more workshop rules and functions in time.

Perhaps if we are supportive and enthusiastic enough, they’ll even throw in AI, Props, and animation configs for workshop creators to utilize.

To paraphrase, they’re overnerfing heroes, and ignoring heroes that need buffs, and nerfing heroes that don’t need nerfs.

Not every change has been bad, or in the wrong direction, but a lot of it is missing the mark imo.

I agree we have been quite spoiled when you realize that Overwatch is a game you buy just once with no subscription fees or DLCs.

We have been getting quite a lot of content, patches, seasonal events, balance changes etc… on a regular basis without having to spend one single dollar.

Very few games and companies offer that level of quality. Most games don’t even survive year 2 post-release if there’s no expensive DLC’s or subscription fees like its the case with Overwatch.

It’s true that the recent “silence” (as people call it) is a bit unusual from Blizzard but I wouldn’t worry too much. There must a reason to this and there are a lot of things to be announced by the end of July, if not before.

Let’s just be patient  !

None of the content Blizzard is releasing is addressing the problems of the game, for most people I think Workshop and Replays are probably going to be worthless after thoughts. The game is just poorly managed, that has been evident for awhile and why the player base at the top end of the ladder just bleeds away.

Realistically, it’s a niche feature. Casual gamers who have no knowledge of programming are nothing with it and it’s also hidden somewhere where most won’t even find it (seriously, where can you even mess around in the workshop? I really don’t know). Even the workshop modes that other people make are hidden in the custom games where many just never come (it took me several months to even realize where the custom games tab is on the menu).

They added some workshop modes to the arcade during anniversary. The least they could do was reserve one arcade tab for workshop modes afterwards. Like, ‘most popular of the week’ or something like that. That’s really not much work to implement and would actually make the workshop a feature for the masses.

One that could’ve been in the game at launch… and, realistically, people will only use it to catch cheaters and the ‘hardcore’ players might use it for self-improvement, but that’s also a minority.

Again, the brunt of the playerbase doesn’t really care unless it are some really big balance changes.

Look, personally I’m not complaining about the lack of content (because 1) I survived the 14 month drought at the end of Mists of Pandaria in WoW and 2) I barely play OW anymore anyway), but to call this ‘lots of content’ and the people ‘spoiled’ is quite a stretch.
