Exactly what I thought would happen, happened when they removed her perk and made claws out a major perk… she’s just not fun.
They nerfed / removed the thing that made her fun so now she just kinda does nothing and finds most of her value from the unfun and unengaging part of her kit, that being perma tether.
Bring back another DPS perk, maybe just make claws out basekit, reduce her speed so isn’t TOO evasive. And for the love of God give tether a time limit.
Force JPC to actually engage with the enemy instead of just flying at the skybox. On top of just making her more fun to play.
No. Dps JPC was a terrible mistake. JPC is still a mistake right now as long as she has permaflight and permatether. Her whole gameplay is no skill and dumb. Just fly to the skybox and heal yourself when anything happens.
Also, to my understanding she’s currently a menace in high elo lobbies where people apparently love running JPC + Bastion? I’ve seen multiple recent videos of players complaining about it, especially in Korean servers.
Does this make the game more fun for the 9 or 11 other players? Does DPS jetpack cat add a dynamic to the game that’s enjoyable to play with and against? Is DPS jetpack cat a net positive for the game?
I’d argue in her original state the answer was a resounding no. Her launch rapid acceleration combined with damage made her a borderline unpunishable(even if you hit all your shots chances are she would zip behind cover before you could kill her) nuisance.
The dps build is also not fun to play against because she can hide and stage in areas that no other hero can even try to contest or push her out of. The maps were not designed with permanent flight in mind. Pharah lost her ability to permanently fly for a reason.
If they want her to keep the kit she has? It is objectively healthier to have her have to engage with the enemy to get major value as opposed to just perma tethering a teammate at the skybox… Or just healing teammates from the skybox uncontestable.
Other than that, we would need to shift the conversation from improving her current kit to outright reworks. But this post isn’t about reworking her.
Lower her speed boost, hell make her 200 HP. Better audio. Plenty of things they could do to increase her fun factor and make her more engaging to play against as opposed to… what they got right now.
Tbh I don’t know why she’s NOT 200 hp… probably the most sensible nerf she could get (whether she needs a nerf or not, it’s just the balance she should be pushed towards to be fair)

Somehow you’ve assumed I main JPC. How you got there? I’m not sure. I want to desperately believe your brain is capable of understanding that someone posting about a hero doesn’t mean they automatically main that character.
I’m a low post account because..I don’t frequent the forums. Not sure what to tell you there. This is my only account. I have 2k hours in the game. Nothing I said was ragebait. I was simply scrolling the forums on the toilet and noticed your other post after we interacted on the sierra one. I simply have the human ability of recognizing names and faces.

Why would I lie? I got on here to make a post about the crimson weapons because I’m absolutely desperate for them to salvage this abysmal mistake of a skin. Without a good comp skin to grind for, it takes the wind out of a lot of players sails.

Mentioned this way back when JPC first came out. Nerfing her kit meant removing the characters identity and it did just that. She’s still a playable support but her role has shifted a good bit after the big nerfs.
