I Hate This Game But I can't Stop

This season is played out. You should have already obtained level 80 at this point and gotten all the goodies.

Take a break from games, or if you can’t do that, take a break from multi player games, go to single player.

Lots of good games have been released recently, and from what I hear, they’re quite good.

Steam has a whole section of the internet for single player games. Go check it out.

Don’t want to play single player games? Play a multiplayer game that’s PvE.

All I’m saying is put your focus on something besides Overwatch and you’ll be alright.

Like I said in my own initial reply. I’ve been so fed up with this game I haven’t played in days.

I’ve been playing Dying Light 2 on the hardest difficulty, and know what’s funny? As annoying as it is, as OP as the special zombies are in this mode? It’s still less infuriating than Overwatch has been.

I don’t think this is true at all. At max this is … 30% true.
Often people say this as a cope when they lose games when they think they shouldnt and they can’t handle it properly.

I hate P2W games, with every fiber of my being. I absolutely hate them. Its the number 1 reason why I would quit games in all time. Destiny2 was the case and I have friends I can do content with and that ask me once in a while to come back.

It took -3 seconds to uninstall and quit straight away. Thats why I dont believe you.

“But Hyphen, not everyone is the same, some people are addicts”
Sure, but then it would happen to you with the next game and since OW2 doesn’t really give you anything (no loot boxes etc), everyone should be able to uninstall and move on.

Try other games and GL.

THey need to avoid the forum if they feel that way. They wont get better by doing the same stuff they always did.

I literally only play because my friends play. When they finally change game (hopefully Marvel Rivals when it releases), I will change game too.

The best advice I can give is to take breaks, long or short, when you start feeling like this. I used to get like this often, but I’d take a break and feel like nothing about the game (aside from some balance issues) bothered me!

Actually on a break rn, I grinded the BP to get the mercy mythic and the premium coins, would’ve liked to get the “Angel of Vengeance” title for hitting lv200 on the BP, but ain’t no way I can stand the game for another 120 levels.

The balance of the game and toxic player base are to thank for turning people who loved to play the game every day into people that can only stand to play the game until they get the rewards they’ve paid for XD

I mean, I have like 4k+ hours in OW. One of my fav games of all time. I’ve seen everything there is. I’m playing plenty of other things. After 1-2 games of OW, I remember why I’m not playing a bunch. Go buy PC Game Pass or something, get a trial. I don’t even think about OW generally. Not fun, no play. Simple as that.

I’m 40 hours into FF Rebirth, 50hrs into Fallout 4, 5 crowned victories in Fortnite this season, starting Outlast Trials with my buddy tonight. We recently played through Evil West, Dead Island 2. I convinced him to buy Metro Exodus for like $4 on sale.

Good advice :+1: I just reached 200 last night.

F2P and the severe fall off of older players prior to that swtich (and because of it. 5v5 switch can get lumped into that too) has definitely soured the playerbase. Pretty dramatically imo.

Continuing on in this game is a question of mindset imo. Its supposed to be a social game but it shouldnt be treated that way at all anymore. The average player is far better off with all chat off than actually trying to engage in chat.

You have to be able to have a good time on your play alone. This is the case despite Ow being a team game. Paradoxical indeed, which leads to frustration for a lot of people.

Rebirth any good? Haven’t play for so long, haven’t even finished Endwalker (another reason to blame Blizz for something!!! DAM THEM!!!)

I really love it. I played through Remake again when I got the PS5 to have it fresh in my mind, but 45+ hours of that then another 40 in Rebirth burned me out and I haven’t touched it in a couple weeks. Such a weird game.

It’s just a rush of dopamine, it’s addictive behavior.

Endz, you’re not helping.

Bullying him isn’t going to fix the problems. Being constructive is what’s going to assist here, not destructive.

While I can appreciate the “Man up, pull yourself up by the boot straps, stuff or get off the pot” mentality, ultimately that’s not going to help.

10 matches is more than enough for a day. Speaking as someone who still likes playing make sure you’re enjoying other things. Too much of any one thing will make you miserable. I remember there was a similar issue with destiny players a while back.

i’m in the exact same boat as you. Been playing this game since Uprising came out. I hate this game so much as well, the devs have completely destroyed the Overwatch brand and everything we loved about OW1. it really is hard to quit a game you sunk in so much of your time (and money) into. Not sure how much more lying and scamming i can take from blizzard.

I also hated the game, but from a different perspective. As a widow one trick, I hated being hard focused and hard countered by characters like doom and sombra.

Now that xdefiant has come out, I haven’t felt a need to come back. I’ve broken free of the addiction.

Try destiny 2. They have had everything free for the past month, and is free until the next expansion comes out on the 4th ish.

Then they are supposed to release a legacy bundle of all their older content. IDK what it will cost for that bundle, but for the next week, it’s something besides overwatch.

With the most sincerity, uninstall and delete everything overwatch-related from your computer. Block your access to the forums and blizzard sites as well and unfollow any overwatch-related social media you engage with. You’re genuinely not having fun so cut it out of your life. Go play something else.

I don’t want to sound offensive but from what I read I think that the issue cannot be found in the game or in the community but more inside you.

I think you should work more on how you react to the things you don’t like (gaming wise of coursE).

This is a suggestion I wouldn’t follow at all. You should not block your access to fun, you just have to find your way to have fun.

Alhamdulillah  :prayer_beads:
