Don’t kid yourself. Most of the ppl who still play OW2 are OW1 players.
They failed to get new players with OW2 and now are trying to get the OW1 crowd back with nostalgia.
They are trying to get some more people back to play, because Marvel Rivals is coming in 3 weeks. If they don’t make people play and love their game again, Marvel will delete OW like Black Ops 6 deleted XDefiant.
They literally did this with PvE so i guess thats where people are coming from.
That aside, i have to agree. Like its supposed to be a trailer anniversary thing so the date was set in stone.
I know of no valid data that supports the claim that the player population is mostly OW1 players
if you can point us to such data, please do so

actually, many new players joined the population when the game became free to play
