Don’t forget its often off meta heroes that are called easy too. Despite it being easier to win with the meta picks. The mental gymnastics 
There will always be a meta though.
Name any legitimately competitive game that doesn’t have one.
Even pokemon and LOL has them.

Picking heroes is a skill. Your team sucked at it.
I don’t want to say “git gud” because of course you can’t control your team, but “just because of the heroes they picked” is close to saying someone won a chess game “just because of the moves they made.” Well, yeah.
The game isn’t completely determined by hero selection, but it’s so significant a factor that you can’t ignore it. That most people do anyway doesn’t change that.
I’d argue that knowing what to switch to have best chance to win in general, and knowing what to switch to to counter enemy comp to have best chance to win against said comp, are 2 different things, and requires completey different brain capacity.
I actualy dont see that much of “swap to meta and win” myself.
But i know how swapping to certian hero might ruin game, doom is that kind of hero for me since forever. I dont know why, but everytime someone do swap to him before overtime, they do actualy know how to play him and win fights for their team…

Doom makes even players that’s medicore on them look like they know what they are doing, including me, (I only pull him out when annoying genjis and tracers are present).
And, majority of his power is in his abilities, not in ult, so switching to him in OT makes sense, and makes up for the loss of ult charges.
true, but even mid game people swapping to him annoy me SO MUCH I WANT TO HUNT THEM DOWN AND MURDER LEAVING OBJECTIVE

I have preferences of hate, and tracer currently is the top of chart. So, necessary evil.
A good doom punch to the face works wonders for them to switch back to mccree and then we can have a good aim duel instead of scumming w/ hero picks and inherent hero traits to gain duel advantage.
Unless you’re in the OWL, you do not, and have not ever played the meta.
Heh, usualy when i see doom they target supports and tanks more than dps first.
That’s legit doom players and they are playing to win. I’m only playing doom to make tracer and sometimes genji suffer, should they become too annoying for OUR supports.
Welp, would not stop me from hunting you down. Tho im bad at plaing lately because of one tricking echo so you would probably kill me (i lost to doomfists a lot in this game too as flying hero ;( )
If u play echo…either widow or mccree is coming out.
But based on recently nerfs, prob soldier too.
2bh, I’d say soldier is the choice, it’s a fair duel imo.
Get better and counter-swap them.
This idea is horrifically stupid.
You did not lose because they swapped heroes to META.
The META is not a set of heroes.
The META is a strategy.
You lost because they swapped to heroes that work better together, and evidently they overwhelmed you due to the way they played.
This means one of a few things:
- You didn’t have enough time to swap to mirror or counter them.
- You didn’t have the understanding of the game to know how to counter them on your current composition or play to your strengths.
- You actively chose one of the above.
You, in this case- refers to your team as a whole.
A team of all Bronze players could lock: Rein, Zarya, D.Va, Lucio, Zenyatta, and Brigitte.
They would lose to a team of tryharding Grandmasters on Off-Meta.
Why? Because of the gap in their skill and in their teamwork.
You did not lose because the enemy swapped heroes.
You lost because you/your team could not handle it.

The META, does not exist throughout the entire ladder.
It is predominately in higher ranks, or in group-play where they realize they must play together (in a team game) to have the highest chance of winning. Which puts them against smufs far higher than their capabilities, as well as hackers.
They also gain less SR for being in a group so they will climb slower.
As a solo player, or someone in duos, you will rarely come across this unless your rank is infested.
You did not lose to the META.

i mean your comp has a lot of problems with it and their comp did too. I mean in most ranked people play orisa like rein except orisa isn’t supposed to be played like rein.

You mean to tell me that Double Barrier was actually a decent meta since it didn’t bleed through the entire game
And that Sigma, Orisa, and Baptiste didn’t need to get gutted :o
