I get Sombra was pretty good but

I was messing around with friends in an experimental practice range and wow the hack feels awful.

happy the change isn’t going through. I don’t like using this word a lot because it barely applies but yeah, she’s honestly unplayable in this state

I thought forum balance change ideas were pretty bad but man this change really tops anything the forums has suggested

The worst part is that sombra was only pretty good in OWL, in ladder she was (and still is) trash

Can Wyoming pin this to the official overwatch forums page?

Fitzy’s mental is insane his hack breaks like 5 times and he doesn’t tilt

When was she pretty good? She literally only playable in pro play.

That’s the benchmark I’m going off of. On ladder, it isn’t her meta because Cree is meta, for the most part, unfortunately.

No meta is her meta. Shes been bad since release.
Also what do people care about pro play viability. I dont want to watch the game, i want to play it.

Not really true at all. Back when she got ult charge off packs she was very good.

The issue most players face is that Sombra takes a certain skill set to play, plus communication. If you’re a good Sombra, you probably aren’t in low ranks for very long because you’ll shoot right up. She’s fallen stronger out of favor due to this meta, but she’s always had her niche as a character which heavily rewards being a good player + communication with your team. Sombra isn’t a universal DPS because she isn’t a damage dealing hitscan. Look at Cree. Look at Ashe. Look at Tracer. All universal, all do damage and that’s it. Sombra is different. As is Mei. As is Sym.

Also, I care about pro play viability because this game is balanced around it. The top 1% define the meta because meta literally doesn’t exist below Diamond and even in Diamond, barely.

That only happened in pro play. On ladder you got reported for playing her as it was considered throwing the game.

Again, that’s really just not true. Sombra requires a lot of work. A lot of work people really just don’t have the skill, want, or time to put into her.

But really good Sombra’s exist on ladder.

I’ve been there. Playing her since release. I know that it has been this way. Sombra only existed in pro play and otherwise you had Codey and Fitzy playing her. That was it.
Fitzy even had a counter on stream displaying how many people ranted about the Sombra pick and demanded a switch.

I guess you werent digging deep enough

“Give Dva 3s boosters, 15mDM, more booster damage, more rockets damage and a smaller critbox!” (This wasnt a troll post btw)

“Give Winston 200 armor and 2 charges of jump”

“Rework Tracer to a Tank”

“Remove Balls HP to 400, grapple has a max durazion of 3s and shields give ult charge”

“Nerf Mercys damage boost to 20% and her HPs to 50”

“Widows grapple gets cancelled if you shoot her”

“Decrease Anas HP to 175 and her nade duration to 3s”

She is not good in ladder and the stats have consistently backed that up. It’s not about skill. Plenty of good Sombras in GM where her stats have also been consistently trash. It’s that she’s a team reliant hero in an environment with mostly random groups of people being thrown together and called a team.

Fitzy makes it look easy, but a couple of ringers a good hero does not make. Even devs have talked about how her power level is very, very different on ladder vs pro play.

Fitzy himself even dropped temporarily to masters not long ago. And he has like 2000 hours on her.

He makes memes about it

Or hides the frustration

Which are both insane tbh
