Im pretty sure you , jedi kinda play lax to keep it in diamond and below to farm the kids.
It’s probably true for myself too but i know for sure my tracer doesn’t cross masters sadly of now and for hanzo i can always cute arrge even he is a diamond often it’s our shimmada way
Hmm, I can’t fully understand this sentiment unless you play someone he hard counters (does hard-counter anyone? Genuinely curious.)
I mean, he has high damage output but he needs to be pretty up in your face considering his fall off and spread are both absurd. His TP is seeable, Wraith is mostly a get out tool, and a Reaper getting out of your face is a W, his ult is hit or miss.
Reaper’s strength is just being a durable and having high damage up-close. That’s it. That’s all he does. Reaper is really popular in a lot of ranks iirc.
Yeah, I feel like you two got off to a bad start. Shifft took Ayanga’s post seriously (tip for the future - that is a mistake; Ayanga’s post are almost always tongue in cheek) and Flare seems to be responding as if Shifft made a thread asking for buffs (whereas I think he was pointing out the various weaknesses of Reaper in response to the OP claiming he’s overpowered, which is a pretty absurd claim).
You’re both pretty. In the spirit of the holidays, I recommend hugging it out.
Not a GM, peaked in high plat or low diamond, but I wouldn’t expect him to be overperforming again, and frankly, I’d say to put out that friggin rework before any more nerfs to him. This is going to be a bit of a long response from me, regular sized for me actually, but here’s how I see it.
S9 hit, they significantly damaged his capability as a tank buster, 1 or 2 more times after that I think too with tank passive and armor changes. But his bigger pellets meant he was hitting more, therefore hitting harder/ healing more. But, as stated by Blizzard, he was as good against tanks as he was before, so they tightened his spread to make him better against smaller targets. Same result:
Bigger pellets = more hits
Tighter spread = more hits and artificial range boost
More hits = more damage/ healing.
They nerfed his passive because the 50hp boost was apparently too much, which the aforementioned changes I think would be the actual reason and didn’t want to admit they might have screwed up. Now add in the DPS passive buff, which directly counters his own passive and the universal bullet size decreases, he’s already been nerfed directly once, blanket nerfed, then they buffed an entire role with a passive that directly counters his own.
That’s just bad design no matter how you look at it. They seem intent on not altering his damage directly and instead keep adjusting his utility or consistency. But he’s one of those characters when they change one thing, 1-3 other parts of him suffer as a result. Buffing the role passive works against him. And changing bullet sizes/ spread affects more than just his damage.
As for how he is in 6v6? That’s more than likely a result of the base durability nerfs almost every tank got and the passive not reducing incoming crit damage. It’s not that he’s strong, it’s that other things that reduced his effectiveness were nerfed like twice over.
I’d say nerf his hp to 275. He does not need 300hp when he can 2 tap 90% of the squishes in the game. Also his TP should not give him iframes and his wraith either needs a speed decrease or nerf the distance it can go.
Nothing more infuriating as a tank main in 5v5 than fighting the enemy tank only to have a 300hp reaper start shooting you from the back as you’re dueling the enemy tank.
Its a Reaper. You as a player have literally at least a dozen changes in gameplay that could have stopped him.
Yet you took none of it.
Concerning interactions here, if a Reaper got that close to you and killed you, just look back on your gameplay. Literally a simple few steps back and you forced another chance at stoping him and creating several seconds of a time windows by just basic movement.
At this point its not even an opinion.
In that same window a Widow, Soljorn, and a Mccree could have dealt substaial damage to you, but the positioning didn’t matter because headshots and gun shot spam.
He hard counters Roadhog to an extent. But if he lands the hook and you don’t have Wraith, you might be cooked. You probably aren’t because aiming for his center mass does a butt-ton of damage, and he can’t dps during vape. Basically, just dance around and shoot him. And he’s just a giant walking healthpack.
So sadly while tanks are jacked as raid bosses Nerfing reaper would remove the aggression on a frontline, as all support are mobile these days, with the addition to hazard reaper wont be meeting the nerf pile til either tanks are pulled back a little or another aspect.
