I feel like Ashe is countered by Widow way too hard

I was playing mostly with Ashe last days and Ashe is very good, but when anyone picks Widow to counter her there is no way arround but to switch.
The damage fall-off makes Widow survive 2 headshots at further distances which I feel like would be fair if Ashe could two tap Widow if Widow can one tap Ashe.
To two tap headshot Widow I needed to get much closer which is impossible in some maps.

I would nerf Widows HP to 150 (if it could help). This nerf wouldnt be even noticeable because when anyone pushes Widow she is pretty much dead no matter how much HP she has. I feel like this one shot hitscan at any range should be compensated a bit more anyway.

I couldnt really find any idea how to ballance this two a bit more…
I get it, this is a team-based game and someone from my team should counter her with Genji or something if Im viable with Ashe, but still, Widow feels way too busted against Ash anyway.

Always try to fight in range to double tap or wait till someone dives widow and you can one tap finish her 150 remaining hp. If widow is not shooting at someone else it might not be worth even dueling her. You can also hipshot then headshot her head which might be enough to kill her before she reacts, not positive.
She does have to rescope if you catch her off guard with the hipfire.
Would be nice for widow hp to get renurfed though. Ashe’s falloff is devistatingly weak.

Ashe also has the advantage of headshotting the widow and widow hides and you finish her off with dynamite. (Sometimes it can result in a death though, sometimes you can toss dynamite just to make her reposition and not peek the dynamite as it falls)

5k hp widow wants a talk with you :3

i would be willing to trade widows health for a faster charge time and quickscope. be cool to have old widow back with a cost tho heh

Anything if it gives Ashe chance to fight her. Its just too busted now. When Im doing good with Ashe BOOM there goes denying Widow sayin now you switching boy. :frowning: I did even somehow learn to kill Pharah and now Im destroying every Pharah making them to switch (feels good man :D)… Probly this is how it feels for Widow tho. :frowning:

But its a great idea to give Widow something for HP. I mean Widow can have 100HP and be just fine anyway…

Ashe has a different effective range - if you are looking to counter widow, you should play widow.

Thats exactly it, problem is Im looking to play Ashe because I can do much more than with Cree or Soldier…

Aim for aim Ashe stands ZERO chance. None.

Its a completely one sided stomp.

That being said OW doesnt need another 1 shot sniper type lol. There is no way to balance this without it.

Exactly ZERO. I didi even two tap headshot them a lot of times, but she just wont drop… Her HP needs to go + giving her maybe soem new good ultimate as compensation or something…

There is no point playing with Ashe in maps where shes better pick than Cree if there is anyone capable playing Widow in enemy team…

This is way too denying…

Ashe needs her 85 damage back. She shouldnt be held back by Mercy.

When Ashe had 85 damage per shot she was a semi-decent counter to Widow if the Ashe player was skilled enough.

Ashe is still strongest hitscan if you can land your shots and youre close enough so I I would probly go with nerfing Widows HP instead so Ashe can 2tap headshot her at any range which would be fair enough…

People often categorize Ashe as a sniper and they are absolutelly wrong, you need to be close with her, not too close, jsut close enough.

That isnt going to happen as they just increased her HP to 200 in the OW2 beta.
Makes more sense to give Ashe 85 damage back. Makes no sense for her to do 75 damage and McCree 70. Her Rifle should do more damage than a handgun. At least more than just 5 more damage, especially the ROF and the fact its scoped.

Ashe has more range, with Cree you need to be really close.
If they gave Widow back 200HP then RIP Ashe… No point to play with her because she always gets absolutelly stomped on by Widow…

Snipers are not as problematic as people thought in OW2. At least for now.
And I never said Ashe was a true sniper. I said that a skilled Ashe player could semi counter a Widow with her old 85 damage.
Not so much anymore. And im talking about mid to longer mid ranges which Ashe should excel at.
But she doesn’t anymore with the nerf to her damage AND the hitscan range nerfs. She was hit double.

Im happy with Ashe enough as she is now, just that Widow is problem. If you could 2tap anyone else at Widows range, there would be no point to play with Widow.

Guess I will just play switching games with them and re-learn to play Echo a bit because she can get to her whenever she wants. Yeah I guess its problem sloved.

Buffing hitscans would make too many people unhappy so we need to think about them too.

Im not talking about buffing a group of heroes. Im talking about looking at individual heroes and adjusting them accordingly.
Ashe was only nerfed because of Mercy. But i suppose as long as Mercy has her damage boost many heroes will be bottlenecked. Including Pharah.

You need to take Mercy into consideration too. I like Mercy players, especially when they loose their minds going DPS Mercy. Its fun to have them in game.

Im happy with nerfed Ashe. Shes still strongest hitscan you can get, you just need to learn good positioning with her and sometimes its just on the ground behind your tanks…

This is exactly how the game is supposed to operate. Swap to Genji, and harass or assassinate the widow player. Throw primary fire from afar to force her to move or suffer damage, and try to close the gap when you find an opportunity.

Ill use Echo instead. Its much easier that way and I can also destroy their tanks on the way to Widow…

I just feel like the gap between Widow and Ashe is too huge and there always should be atleast a chance if you can outskill her with your aim… Totally for hitscan like Ash.

You need a Mercy pocket or go Widow and hit her in the forehead.
