I enjoy DPS why punish me?

The problem is that there’s too many people unwilling to play the roles needed in a game. Even before it was prevalent with 3 dps or 4 or even 5 dps being played in a single game.
Now that the system has swapped all those players that refused to swap before and were making games really frustrating are now sitting in queue waiting for dps still refusing to play anything else.
The only real fix is having players play tank and heals more, because there isn’t enough of them to support however many people are playing dps.
That’s why they have such low queue times compared to dps

It can go on this way if enough people like it. I mean if someone wants to only dps the way Overwatch is means they have to wait.

Problem I find is that tanks and support are just not interesting enough to the broader base of players, and Blizzard needs to deal with that. I really don’t think most people will change, they’ll find different things to do, eventually.

That may be okay for the players that stay, but it is certainly not the best thing ever for Blizzard if other players don’t get drawn into what they think is a better game.

If you really like and care about Overwatch, you should be concerned, always, about players leaving a game in droves. I’m not saying that’s happening, but on console I’ve watched dps wait times come down slowly, while rank and super haven’t increased at all…

I mean in league of legends for example their solution was just autofill, forcing players who did not queue for a role to play the role that was needed to make queue times shorter for everyone. Which resulted in a nearly equal playrate of all roles. Those who play the least played roles are exempt from being autofilled.
Other than that the only solution is to make healers and tanks more interesting yeah, but honestly I personally think that overwatch isn’t really that much fun. :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re not punishing you if there is an higher number of players queuing for DPS it will result in less games forming because it needs a stable 2-2-2 match. It could take longer to spread these people due to there not being enough other heroes.

Rank/Tier also plays a role in here, let’s say your in bronze: Less players because it’s lower than average and they’re smart enough to go DPS DPS DPS!!!
Grandmaster: Way above average so that would mean less players and well i don’t know if they spread around alot but hey it takes long there too!!
You know you can apply this to any rank even in the average tier it will result in long queue times due to 2-2-2 being a disaster with queue times.

This is the player’s fault not blizzard’s.

(EDIT: Yes queue priority is a thing but you cannot apply this in every situation)

I was never for role lock but it didn’t matter they were going to do it anyway. And I really didn’t know whether it would work, but it’s been a couple of weeks now and I think it’s revealed people may have hated 4-1-1 but they wanted to play dps. Force preventing that with lock over making tanks and support better has shown what it does to the player base, I think.

I’ve never waited more than 7 minutes for DPS in gold/plat personally

When I want a game fast I play tank or support. No big deal

There are just too many dps players, if there were as many support players and less dps players supports would be getting these queue times, before role Q I would play support and get too many dps, i enjoy support why punish me ?

We wanted 2-2-2 and well we didn’t know it would impact us in a negative way,

Nothing can be done about this except reverting the role queue feature. Wich won’t happen probably unless alot of people start quitting hmm

It’s the player’s fault.

You realize if you want to DPS you will statistically never actually play it queuing multiple roles right?

There are too many of you and Blizzard/AV finally realized it would cost more to fix the game properly than they would make now that everyone has already left, so why bother.

Oh no…

Right now I’m in the silver - gold part, and had two mediocre healers on the same team just goofing around (ex. Mercy in ult but just motionless in the sky not healing anyone). We won, but we all had to work extra hard.

It’s not about what is okay it’s about what is the reality.

This is the reality.

If you think it’s not okay then queue for another role or stop playing competitive and quickplay

Silver and gold is just chaos, wouldn’t really suprise me.

Find some people to queue with, especially tank. It makes the queues much shorter.

Na im just gonna play different games i really enjoyed this game but blizzard is doing what it does best and literally taking any fun out of it. Its actually kind of pathetic on their part

Yeah I wonder why people change their behaviour when thousands are looking? You are listing well known streamers. Watch some 5 viewer GM streams and when there is a game without a big streamer the game is at least toxic as lower ranks. In my experience bronze is least toxic.
