I doubt they will make a good PVE mode

OP, I agree. I’m extremely skeptical their PvE will live up to expectations.

Maybe it will, but I haven’t seen much to inspire confidence. Instead of the grand campaign with abundant side “hero missions,” it now sounds like we’re getting a chopped up campaign meted out seasonally, in all likelihood paid for each chunk. Skill trees seem to be still in the works, but if there’s any kind of monetization there (which seems unfortunately not out of the question), that’s an instant turn-off. Replayability also strikes me as a problem—whereas other PvE games have fairly deep RPG-style loot mechanics or open world exploration to flesh out its play factor, OW2 so far doesn’t seem to have either.

Basically, it seems like the core loop is replaying the same few campaign chunks with different mods and different skill builds—not awful, but basically akin to replaying Destiny 2 campaign missions for no loot, or playing Halo campaigns with Skulls. Do people do it? Sure, but in each of these, they’re far from a major draw. Halo had Firefight but also a rock solid PvP, and Destiny has raids/dungeons/etc. OW2, not so sure about it.

Im not doubting that it would have been good if the devs were given more time - im doubtful because i think it will be a rushed gutted version of what it was meant to be.

I am not confident either.

Maybe not the development team is as well. As they barely talk about it. If they were confident about it they would show a lot more and hype it up way more.

Their silence about it is very weird… this is blizzard, they are known to be this hype machine and very talkative about their upcoming projects. Ow2 pve has been the most silent they have ever been.

i hope that the halloween story thing we got was not just a sample of how the pve is going to play out… i did not like that pve mission at all, the original horde mode was more enjoyable then that story mission.

but now im thinking about it the one mission that they showed off at blizzcon 2019 was similar to that halloween mission, closer to the pve archives missions we got… which again is kinda bad because now theyre banking on pve being this MASSIVE THING. The one thing that people are now afking again for.

Blizzard is mainly known for PvE in games like Diablo, WoW, Starcraft, what makes you think OW2 pve is going to be a fail?

I’d like to know too, I saw a clip of Mei turning her Cryo-Freeze into a bowling ball attack.
With wall the quiet about PVE and taking in the complaints about PVP, did anyone doubting stop and think they are also considering the feed back and applying it to PVE?
The bride of Junkenstien could have a beta test.

If after 3 years the PvE is nothing short of perfection then you can say good bye to the entire IP. They wasted 3 years of our time just to give us this very mediocre and :poop: experience for PVP(it was always :poop: they just astoundingly can’t improve upon what made OW1 so good originally).

I think the PvE failing would kill the IP forever, though it’s kind of already dead. No one talks about it, queue times are awful. You still can’t obtain any good skins just by playing the game, you still have to pay money to get anything of relevance(including heroes which is an ugly promise that’s been broken here).
