It’s incredibly unrealistic to judge other players trying to get out of Bronze when they have people smurfing and ruining their games.
There is a large element of Bronze that is terrible. There are people who think “oh, I’ll just sit in turret mode as Bastion and I should win” who will do nothing else.
Personally, if I had an alt account, I think my placements would be above to Bronze now, yeah, back when I first did comp, Bronze, now, its just an exercise in frustration.
The way you say it is a bit mean but your point is valid. Matchmaking sometimes screws things up but over the long run it does it job. In higher ranks, enemies are much harder to kill and games generally move much faster.
lol
that happens in literally every rank mate. Bronze isn’t special.
If you were so much better than these bronze players who don’t have a clue what they are doing, then perhaps you’d be able to make it out. The problem is that EVERY single bronze player thinks they belong in a better rank. It’s simply the dunning kruger effect. If you were better than bronze, you’d climb. That’s what it comes down to.
You should be able to “carry yourself” out of every rank up until high master, from there, if you cooperate with your team and and have synergy, it’s all teamwork from there.
I agree, I think that a lot of Bronze players think they should be much higher, but I think that some of them might be, but not so much that they can make the difference like a Diamond smurf could.
My stats seem to be consistent with those in Silver, and I have had a hard time getting around 1400 SR. Anecdotally I had two games in a row today with players who were just terrible, who didn’t know how to actually play their role or how to contribute.
I think it is more than one thing holding some people back. Yes, you have to work to improve, I know I have been trying to, but there is more to it than that. As to what the solution is, I don’t know.
One thing people forget is they look at some stats and go “my stats match X Rank” forgetting that the higher you get, the harder it is to maintain high stats.
At this stage it is no longer possible to carry yourself out of Bronze, let alone Silver, Gold or Platinum.
There is quite literally everything going against you.
It has become worse and worse each season, the problems expanding upwards throughout the ranks. So unless you are a Grand Master skilled player, you will be unable to carry yourself or your team consisting of one or more of the above listed problems.
We are at a point now where there is literally no point to smashing your head and getting aggravated about trying any longer. I unfortunately have become the latter of the above list, I can’t be bothered to put my all into it any more, because everything is against me.
It’s not that I’m throwing, I will pick a hero I enjoy that sort of fits into the synergy of whatever my team is going for. It’s just no longer worth the stress though.
So I guess I’m where I should be now, barely maintaining Gold with the potential of support in Diamond. But I simply can’t get there. So why bother, Blizzard certainly don’t.
You sir are just delusional
Smurfs arent as usual as you make them to be and can be in your and the enemy team not just in theirs
Same for throwers enemy team can have them aswell
So basically everything but smurfs makes you loose winchance because they are more likely to be in the enemy team , yet smurfs are less common than the other so called things
also no the system isnt rigged it just doesnt watch out for main roles lol
i easily climbed to mid plat from bronze on my alt account and that with stuff im not even that good at(like widow/genji/bastion)
same for my main, i got from silver to mid plat
now i am just not good enough to climb and need to imrove
You are talking as if elo hell were a thing
so why if someone leaves you are doomed to lose like 90% of the time, oh right because every individual person has a significant outcome on the match
45% winrate in mid-gold, with a 40% winrate on your main (Zen). Oh, and overbuff has you ranked in the 16th percentile for Zen. So, really, you have the potential support of a silver, not a diamond.
I think what you need to remember is this.
The tier you’re in is full of inexperienced players who make A TON of mistakes, lack aim, lack positioning and game-sense. You can figure out your own game play to improve in 1, or all of those fields and have a HUGE advantage over the enemy team.
If you watch back your game play via recordings try to figure out where you’re going wrong. I can guarantee if you showed that vod to a player who was super experienced they could point out 50-100 mistakes in an entire match… Believe it or not, this is a good thing! This means you can improve to the level where you can literally hard carry matches, regardless of having a troll on your team or an insanely bad team comp.
Just really focus on your own gameplay and improving your skill level, before you know it you will start to climb!
Just want to add here: Carried myself out of Bronze yesterday, after having spent several seasons in Bronze and started at around 1300 this season.
I’m just above 1500 now, so I might dip back into Bronze a few times, but the overall SR trend is upwards. Managed to keep it that way by practicing, watching better players on Twitch, and watching YouTube videos where pros criticize game play of lower ranks.
You can do it too!
add me man, i will help you get out of there soon

I know how you feel. I’m still stuck in Bronze and can’t seem to climb due to lack of communication.
You don’t need communication to climb out of bronze. What you need is an awareness of the fact that nobody and nothing is responsible for your being stuck in bronze, except for you.
Agreed. I was playing well yesterday. We had an okay defense. Not great, but okay. Widow on our team decides to feed.
Next round she sits in spawn (Junkertown, not even poking out of spawn, literally sitting there) until the inactivity warning popped up. Then she poked out for a shot or two. No communication.
This person was a level 450. Like… why do you need to do this.
Others often say it happens to your team, it happens to the other team just as much. That may be true in theory, but I’ve had maybe three or four games where someone left/threw on the other team in the past three seasons and well over twenty on my team.
I report them, get a feedback message a lot.
I suggest you get a 6 stack of people that all have a mic and have decent gamesense then 6 stack
Don’t settle for any players that don’t have a mic because they can’t call out or communicate.
I would also suggest that you call out what you see, if you see that there is a mccree getting up on a point, Don’t just sit there and watch! Call it out,ay “mccree is getting up on a “high “point, expect a deadeye soon” or “reaper is teleporting
behind us he probably has ult”
Ultimately just call ANYTHING out that might be a theat. That’s how I climbed out of bronze
its true… 99% cant escape their low rank… Specially not if you play solo…
I started at lauch on xbox one… Placed silver… Low silver… after more then 1 year,… many seasons futher, still silver… level 547 on my account…
Tired of it, started new account on ps4… Im platinum since… never got back to my xbox account after that… 547 levels wasted…
