There is literally no way to reliably punish a good Doomfist even a Widow headshot doesn’t always work (who the heck thought a 400HP DPS was a good idea). Yes, Sombra “counters” him but it’s hard to get the hack off when he yeets across the map so it breaks 24/7.
Supports simply get wrecked by him. Land a sleep dart? Doomfist survives the combo and one-shots you. Shield Bash? Doomfist survives the combo and one shots you. Honestly, it’s torture to play Zen or Ana against a Doomfist because there’s literally NOTHING you can do against meteor strike.
Nerf Doomfist’s damage and rework him into a Tank already. Because the stun one-shot combo ish is not cute. People joke about Brigitte being unfun, but at least there’s some counterplay and a CHANCE to survive her combos. If Doomfist lands a stun, you’re literally DEAD unless you’re a Tank
That we know of. No one said they didnt try more they just showed one of his early iterations. You dont just make a hero in a day. Concepts and internal balancing takes weeks.
I would like to see a rework on his Ult. Not because you can’t do anything as Ana or Zen, but because you know your almost the sure target when you play as Ana or Zen. That’s how bad it is offensively.
DF is decidedly not, they’ve toughed out refining his current kit and are easily a year out from considering anything that removes aspects of the kit they’ve so painstakingly tuned. Maybe his ult gets adjusted, I can see that, but everything else will be here longer than the players who won’t take another week of it. At best they tone down his cc, but nothing on rework tier.
Well, DF is one of many reasons I am not really playing the game anymore. He just represents few things I hate the most at once.
Instakill or CC lock into kill. If this is the best they could come up with, I have serious concerns about the future of the game. Hard to imagine even worse state.
But I am certain there are many people working hard to make this a reality.
A big problem is because he wasnt there to begin with. Blizzard want this to be a moba hybrid and those things are quite prevalent in mobas but this game started out way more fps. So people dont want it to change. However a stale game dies quicker than a game with elements people dont like. Sometimes you just have to accept that things have changed and look forward to the future despite what it brings.
Its the frustration of it aswell. Dying because you were out of place sucks or failure to secure a point because you cant target a healer sucks but CC sucks more so because you cant to anything once its got you. Thats just how CC works. The feeling of not being able to move is a necessary evil. For it sets up great plays.
Think about Earthshatter, hook, flashbang, mei freeze and Charge. All stuns that existed in the base game. Currently there are 8 total stuns meaning 3 more were added. In reality its not as much as lets say Movement abilities where every 2nd character has one
The funny part about Doomfist is that even if I fail rocket punch I can still kill the enemy with the slam + uppercut combo and thanks to the shield buffs I can punch my way out once it comes back from CD.
Like, I thought Doomfist’s ‘theme’ was one punch kills but you don’t even need that to kill someone. You really need to fail two ways of secure killing in order to consider yourself as feeding.
I don’t find any of these CC abilities as oppressive as Doomfist, who can close the gap easily, stunlock me and kill me without I being able to lift a single finger.
