I can’t wait until they dumpster sombra

Why is it always Sombra mains who understand these simple logical steps?

No way. What would be the point of removing her virus only to buff her weapon to compensate for the loss? In the end, that would just mean her invisibility would be tied to a single button again!

What would it benefit Sombra to survive every fight if she can’t kill anything or provide any other value? Even if we gave Sombra her old Translocator back, it wouldn’t do much besides bringing back the coolest ability in the game. There’s still nothing as simple yet challenging to use. Even if we buffed her current Teleport so that Sombra heals 100% of her HP every time she uses it, it wouldn’t matter because she wouldn’t have any other value. She’d just be a little fly that annoys you but nothing more.

The only viable option I see is that Sombra could have value in the game that doesn’t rely on dealing damage, making her useful to the team. However, Hack is a difficult ability to balance with a solo tank. If the duration is increased, Sombra would become a serious counter to tanks, leading to her being present in every match to suppress these “final bosses.” But if Hack’s duration is too short, it becomes useless, serving only to deactivate already activated hackable abilities.

I understand what you mean, but your definition is a bit too exaggerated. However, invisibility has never been a reason for me to dislike Sombra. She received it as part of her first rework, and as a timing-based hero, it was necessary.

Where can I sign?

But just for the record, the hack originally lasted 6 seconds and was later reduced to 5 seconds. Her cooldown was originally 12 seconds and then was brought down to 8 seconds shortly after. I prefer OW1 Sombra because it fit her identity much better and required more tactical play. She was just barely able to kill someone, and the hack brought enemies down to her damage level. Heroes like Ashe or Cassidy had the advantage against Sombra, while ability-based heroes were at a disadvantage. It would have been nice if the hack had a disabling effect on more targets than just blocking abilities.

I believe the best way to deal with CC is through soft CC, like Cassidy’s current grenade. It gives him an advantage, but you’re not completely helpless since you can still kill him. That’s also why I’ve never been bothered by Ana’s grenade or Sombra’s hack. I still have the ability to do something! Yes, Ana’s grenade and Sombra’s hack are soft CC.

Old cc was better and more definite I don’t believe in slow death stuff
You are as good as dead with current nade as well

Ow1 sombra was weak dps , i could out SMG her after hack with widow.

Why would you be bothered by that hero.

Only heroes like doom ball to an extent a genji caught by it will get noped by rest of her team, she was a utility hero in ow1.

The swarm of Sombra forumers are coming to get you.

hEr WiNraTe Is LoW!1one1!

So first of all, congratulations on being so good with Widow and consistently killing a Sombra in a 1v1, which should actually be a fight that Sombra wins!

But yes, exactly, that’s what it should be about. She was a hero designed to counter abilities and was vulnerable to weapon-based heroes. This created the tactical gameplay that Sombra had and that every OW1 Sombra main wants. At least everyone I know. It would be a bit OP if Sombra could easily handle both ability-based heroes and weapon-based heroes without any problems!

Dive has literally never been meta in the entirety of OW2 up until right now… and even then it’s still barely meta because it’s still mostly poke heroes.

Before this season it’s been nothing but brawl / rush and poke lmao.

Watch them buff her again because she’s bad and her winrate is low and multiple threads like this existing on the forums every day are simply idle whining.

Pretty certain she can Translocate out of it (or it doesn’t matter, she can leave as soon as you Grip her) but I’d need to check.

However by all means, if you need peel from Sombra and you can grip her to secure a kill or save your life, please do this to me as I’m happy to help. More often than not (if I’m playing correctly) I’m rarely anywhere you can properly Grip me.

Yes… peel to “save her”. That’s exactly what I was doing. I helped “save her” multiple times, even helped her find her way back to the team fight happening!

I know lets make everyone play the same all with same status, everyone gets the same nerf gun, And the game will praise you can call you the Overwatch God and you get the bestest best rank of them all and be named the best player in the world and everyone kisses the ground you walk on.

How about that?

Setting aside the pathetic skill police arguments, I could do with a break from Sombra. Played maybe a dozen games this morning and maybe, maybe 1 of them didn’t have a Sombra. I don’t care if “unskilled” players have a character they can do well with; I do care if that character is in practically every game.

usually while theres a teamfight happening, thats when sombra goes off to 1v1 the people running back from spawn in order to keep the fight in her team’s favor…

Nah, she needs to be up there in the fight! Hack the people involved, help get the point captured! I’m all too happy to help her do that.

i mean, she’s geared to do eitehr one…

this makes me question if you’ve ever played sombra… the only time she helps cap/push is if everyone else won’t… sombra shouldn’t ever be on point, she should be stalling for time making fights everywhere except where her team is, cuz if she’s by herself keeping even 2 people busy, thats 2 people less in the big team fight you gotta worry about.

I said save you. LW can force peel for him. But I’ve also been saved/pulled by my Lifeweaver on Sombra to save me, which I’ve appreciated.

Sombra is actually so bad it’s not a terrible strat to give up your life trading for an enemy support, my team just rarely pushes when I do that.

It’s a team game and Sombra can be an asset if people stop hating her for 5s.

Remember mirrorwatch sombra? THAT was fun. At least for me, as someone who doesn’t play her. The whole experiment was whacky, yes. But it felt like she provided more consistent benefit to her team at a basic level even though I’d argue she had less personal duel potential. She was a pretty good backline defender to boot.

Not sure how they would balance that concept if they tried it in her actual kit, but I dig the semi-support variant it provided.
