Uh…yeah.
Uh no. OP and others have called you on your claiming of the moral high ground. Which leaves you with “I’m right cuz I’m right” panicked backpedaling.
Keep flailing. It’s entertaining.

They should care, they should be after the long term money, not a quick buck in one season.
The F2P model is about making money over time, so people leaving is a big deal, regardless of if they already spent money or not.
No good dev wants to work for bliz. Tarnished name. Thats the sad part, these devs are actually trying. I just lost a game 16 elims 50+ deaths my team 100+ elims and 7 deaths ther team. Game before this same results but i was on winning team. Bundle this with decay…no thanks. Souless game.
Awesome. More people quitting makes me smile. Which Blizzard brought it on themself. Who next to quit???
I haven’t quit yet, but my gameplay time has decreased lately. It’s just not as fun anymore.
Every game I have played with a daily system drains out the fun.
This is what I’ve been saying for so long and nobody cared. The main thing that keeps players interested is feeling like they are rewarded for the time they spend playing a game. In OW1 it was levels, lootboxes, score increases in COMP so you could see yourself advance after every match, golden weapons, skins from events for just playing the game.
In OW2 there…well you get a skin a year if you do everything they want you to, some boring nothings from battlepasses and…that’s about it? It’s such a horrible design and I don’t know how they can’t see that. They’re literally kicking everyone that’s down in hopes of getting new players who know no better to accept the game as is.
Love the meme/youtube reference, I’ve used it many times myself!
Either way, the OP is the one that got into some kind moral discussion. I’ll just restate my original point before it devolved into that:
So true, I literally have 100x more fun playing puzzle mobile games. In OW2 I wish matches etc would end sooner so I can leave faster and do something that’s fun. After finishing s2’s BP I quit.
I was a potential whale.
No more.
I play Doom and he feels so much worse than s1.
I loved OW1. I even loved OW2.
I’ve read every single bit of lore. Watched every vid. Even bought the novel.
For the first time, I’m done.
Uhhh, no. Business’ can put whatever price tag they want to on their products, people who buy these products become their “own enemy” when they pay for overpriced products.
Capitalism isn’t the problem. It’s people who buy the overpriced skins while simultaneously complaining about the prices, that is the problem. If nobody spent a dime on these skins, then the company would be forced to lower their prices to make money.
I bought the first BP to support the game. I enjoy Overwatch, but after coming to the understanding that Blizzard isn’t going to budge on the skin prices and feeling like I’m constantly getting the middle finger from them, I won’t buy anything else in this game. I can’t be bought with shiny skins, they’ll have to prove that they actually care about their players/players time, before I spend anymore of my money.
How do you know everyone is expecting you to play like it’s ranked? Is it because of how they speak in chat or are the games just more difficult? If it’s just the chat, you can shut it off: Zero expectations
What I’m saying is that you’ll enjoy the game a lot more if you put your own enjoyment first and progression second. If anything the progression is asking you to do isn’t to your taste, don’t do it. For the event challenges, are you actually going to equip that Ice Queen Brigitte skin? If not, don’t bother. Do you actually want to play All Roles for the dailies/weeklies? If not, don’t bother.
I’ve been playing an hour or two a day, making zero effort to complete any challenges, and I’m already at 35 on the battle pass. There’s zero question I’ll hit 80. The rest I’ve decided I don’t care about.
I agree with the OP… I am out too…
I do agree with you, I spent only about 100$ only because this game is the only game my brother will actually play with me. But man this game feels like a job, they could have just made it play 25-50 matches for the week and get all your free coins.
After I played Diablo Immortal, I knew blizzard was going to have the worst monetization model of any western company. My only hope for actually enjoying the game is the PvE but honestly I if it does not give battle pass EXP, I will probably uninstall battle.net as a whole.
And how many more years do we have to wait for solo player only queues?
Kinda nice getting rid of all the cosmetic junkies. Soon all that’s left will be players that actually enjoy the gameplay and not just the rewards. Good job Bliz. ![]()
Well said. They can reach into pockets, but reaching all the way will just alienate people. There has to be at least some gesture or two that isn’t cynical and greedy. And no, 60 blizzpennies a week for hours of time ain’t it.
I’m sure the queue times and matchmaking will be fine, right? There’s plenty of leeway there. /s
Of course it doesn’t, it values your money. OW1 was beautiful with rewarding your time. The more you play, the more cosmetics and currency for more cosmetics you get, and all for free. OW2? Grind for 60 coins every week and once you do that, you get nothing till next week. Yeah, grind battle pass, but not only there’s next to nothing on it if you’re not buying premium, after tier 80 there’s nothing, but titles. There’s no extra coins for “prestige” or whatever they’re called tiers. And since season one ended, I see people using “diamond challanger” or “master challenger” from playing comp, which means they’ll never use thos battle pass titles.
And what is “having fun”? Running into the enemy spawn and AFK over there while your team is 60% behind on the objective? Because I’ve seen people say that’s what they consider “fun” and it’s okay cause “it’s just QP”. That was in OW1 too, before all the “massive sweat-fest”, as you’d put it.
I know, right? It’s almost like that’s the whole reason that kept OW1 from going into maintenance mode during the content drought years.
Same here. Granted, I was much bigger whale in Heroes of the Storm, but I’d still get few OWL skins simply because the game felt like it respected the time I’ve spent in it. Now? Now they don’t care. You can never even play the training range for all the care, so long as you buy each bundle every week.
Nah, you can stay playing, just don’t waste time buying anything. I keep forgetting there’s a hero gallery now, cause I’ve got no reason to go there, as I don’t unlock anything anymore. I just click the battle pass icon to make the “new” icon disappear after I’ve reached a new tier.
PvE is gonna cost $39.99, it’s gonna be some 10 episodes, each full locked zone where they spawn dozens of enemy waves just to artifically prolong it and then the’re gonna be selling bonus episodes at $19.99 every 2-3 months.
i believe nothing will change, by making this game 5v5 and pushing it into a fast deathmatch … it just gets old pretty fast.
i played ow1 for hours every week, but now every match feels the same, no matter if you win or lose.
I’m close, like really really close to ending it with this game.
OW1 was where all the nostalgia was at.
They’ve messed with this game so much that its not even playable anymore.
And the amount of people that don’t understand the game is beyond reasoning.
No one understands diffing, C9, grouping up, falling back, working together.
Even the battle pass is a joke to our wallets.
OW1 was better and always will be better.
The whole game is based off DPS now and its actually sad.
