I just feel like I have to post here in order to make Blizzard more aware of the huge cheating problem. Atleast in Diamond 1 to Master 3 I’ve been running into cheaters atleast 25-33% of my games.
I’ve always given people the benefit of the doubt to popping off in competetive games. I still find it hard to adjust from the old days where cheaters were really rare and the game integrity was solid. However as of late it seems aimbot and/or wallhacks are extremely common. I would say it’s relatively easy to spot if someone is cheating, atleast in Masters and above because other things than aim stand out like a sore thumb.
The more I run in to these cheaters I just lose my excitement towards playing the game. With smurfs it’s different. Despite smurfing being exremely common nowadays, you can atleast feel some form of motivation to get better and close the skillgap that made you lose but when you roll a teamin the 1st round just for that one guy to crank up his cheats in the 2nd round is just really discouraging.
I’ve seen multiple content creators mentioning the same thing aswell. Appearantly there has been some free cheats going around now for the last couple of weeks up to a month which feels very similar to the amount of time I’ve been running in to these cheaters.
Please Blizzard, step up your game here. Either that or make the ban waves more frequent. I’ve literally had losing streaks the past week where more than half of those games were because of cheaters.

Now you have access to replays for ALL your games, patch to patch… this should be very easy for you to prove.

Well 100% is a bit of an exaggeration. However I don’t really feel like I need to prove whether or not my numbers are exact. I can assure whoever doubts my original post that I wouldn’t take the time to write a post on the forums for the first time since OW1 Beta if this wasn’t a problem that’s actually bothering me and a lot of people I play with.
I have never seen anything like this during Overwatch’s lifespan. It’s just really sad that it has come to a point where people are quitting the game because of it.

You don’t. But if you are going to make a claim like that, it is worth having at least something, rather than just anecdotes.
I don’t even think it is in the top 5 reasons why people quit.
Well, I am on the precipice of quitting, at least on Asia servers and just playing something else until I return the states. It is that bad here. I’ve made enough posts about it already with replay codes where it’s obvious full on rage hacking — not even questionable stuff.
People are sporting open profiles with 70/52 widow accuracy here.

That’s because they are paid accounts. You can buy accounts for $5 to $25 for a masters account. Cheat on it, if you get banned, buy another one for $5. Free To Play Games for you.

The cheating tools even have a function that encourages you to auto report players for abusive chat if they mention the word “cheat”.
I don’t recommend this, but if you were to say “cheaters suck” at the start of 15 matches in a row, there’s a decent chance you’d be silenced the next day or get a warning.
The basic forms of cheating are Wallhack, Aimbot, Triggerbot. But some of the lesser thought about kinds are being able to read party chat of enemy team or even being able to hear enemy team chat. There are also some wallhacks that show the cooldowns of abilities under the health bar of enemies (through walls, too)

Blizzard doesn’t care, their dev team is all outsourced as is evident by the so many glaring problems with this disaster of a game

Well i was silenced 14 days for calling out cheaters in chat.

Been said so many times-NEVER type anything in match chat. Because the braindead sacks of garbage will report you for no reason. Including the ones who know they have a cheater, but are so desperate to be boosted to higher SR they won’t report them, they hard pocket them (sup Mercy mains)
Just report them, block them, move on and hope the rest of their lives end in abject despair.

I mean, a claim like that will only be anecdotal unless I posted every replay code the past month. But as I said, I’m not posting this for any sort of reassurance that my losses are because of cheaters. So whether or not you believe me or not really doesn’t matter.
The fact of the matter is that it has been happening on multiple occasions, and I’m not the only one who’s been experiencing this.
Despite all the major problems this game faces right now, the one reason that has kept me playing at all is the gameplay. Say what you want about the format, balance, the different systems etc the one thing that has always been solid is the foundational gameplay and the really high skill ceiling which is now being ruined by cheaters.

So blizzard has itself acknowledged cheating is the biggest issue for them right now
Since the launch of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has banned over 380,000 accounts for cheating and an additional 35,000 accounts for grouping with cheaters. They have implemented stricter detection and prevention systems and encouraged players to report suspicious activities to help identify new cheating methods and individuals
Blizzard has also introduced SMS Protect, requiring players to link a mobile number to their accounts, which aims to prevent banned players from easily creating new accounts. This is part of their broader effort to maintain a fair and competitive environment

I’m struggling to see where they acknowledge that…
google and check Blizzard news and overwatch news. i can get you the link, but if you can defend cheaters, you can do the research yourself.
Same. it almost feels like a free speech issue, but the reality is that there is a specific part of ToS that says something along the lines of calling someone out. Literally saying “I think your widow is cheating” might be against ToS, while saying “I think you have a cheater on your team” and refusing to say who, isn’t against ToS.
Highly doubt it holds any weight.
I call out cheaters before I report them. Of Course i only do that when i am 100% certain that I am frying that account.
TOS for someone who is adhering to it, not for a cheater who I have caught red handed.
This guy is trolling 24/7 on forums so I guess he is banned for a good reason.
An issue vs the biggest issue is what I’m querying
