How would you rank the supports?

1-kirko
2-mercy
3-ana
4-zen
5-brig
6-lucio
7-bap
8-Moira

If you want an actual tier list
S- kirko, brig, zen, mercy can be either high A or S
A- ana, lucio
B- bap, Moira

Top Tier: Mercy, Ana, Kiriko
High Tier: Bap
Mid Tier: Lucio, Zen
Low Tier: Moira
Bad Tier: Brig

Kiriko
Ana
Bap
Mercy
Moira
Zen
Lucio
Brig

However
Zen is only where he is because of the tank innate making him a rollover and die for smart tanks. Discord is one of the most stupidly OP skills in the game.

Fortunately for Zen
smart tanks are a rare spawn in Overwatch
but a lack of a legit escape tool is a problem.

They’ve talked about why they dont want to give Zen mobility.
I honestly think he should have some defensive ability though
Like fully charging his volley would not automatically fire, but instead start orbiting him like an atom, reducing dmg from a hit by 40% before one orb per attack was fired at the attacker.

As of right now or just overall?

Current Meta:

  1. Zenyetta

  2. Brigette

  3. Kiriko

  4. Lucio

  5. Ana

  6. Baptiste

  7. Mercy

  8. Moira

Overall I feel like Ana, Baptiste, and Kiriko will be supports that will always be meta in some way due to how much utility they bring along with being versatile overall. I feel like people are definitely sleeping on Brigitte right now, her along with Zenyatta are an incredibly strong duo right now and she got that buff to her repair pack healing which was very nice.

They’re all good.

Except Moira is still bad and Brigitte not too far ahead of her.

thats not how that works. the lower ranked you go, the more your entire focus is basically just “deal dmg”.

an ana in gold doesnt need to land a perfect sleep or a nade. they just need to be able to aim well enough to keep their team topped off and to kill the enemy.

but as you climb, the sleeps and nades become important.

speed boost is something that enchances certain heroes but is largely useless for others, rein for instance has always loved lucio.

but lucio in particular can be a monster in the lower ranks because his movement can make him unkillable and he can dive and kill the backline.

but as you climb into diamond the people stop missing and now you have to play more reserved or you feed.

brig was good before season 3 because brig has a specific use that shes very good at.

just because you cant pick her every single match and be hyper effective doesnt mean shes bad.

it means she’s situational. some heroes have to be situational

9/10 the people complaining about brig being bad, are themselves bad and are trying to force the hero into equally bad situations.

brig would need a full rework if the goal is make her more universally viable.

it pingd me for this, but im not really sure it was aimed at me so im not directly responding, but i will acknowledge i saw it.

S- Kiriko, Lucio
A- Ana, Brigitte
B- Mercy, Moira
C- Zenyatta, Baptiste

I should clarify that C-tier isn’t bad, just worse off than B tier.

In terms of fun and playability, I rank them:

S -
A -
B -
C -
D -
F - literally all of them.

Ranked:

  1. Kiriko
  2. Brig Zen Mercy Lucio
  3. Bap Moira
  4. Ana

S- Ana and Kiriko

That’s all.
The rest is more situational, and if the enemies have Ana-Kiriko you’d better mirror them or you will have really harder games.

If they don’t have Ana / Kiriko even a good Moira or Brig can shine. And you can play many heroes (JQ, Sombra, etc).

SS (need nerfs) - Ana, Kiriko
S - Lucio
A - Mercy, Baptiste,Zenyatta
B - Moira,Brigitte

Every healer is viable right now but kiriko is the only broken one.

She kinda sucks as a healer I find and her insta save is comically broken. It mitigates ever skill based ult with 1 button push. It honestly should only apply to one person like zarias bubble

Personally I find bap really fun

Mercy
Kiriko
Ana
Lucio
Moira
Zen
Bap
Brig

Some are very close to one another the lower you go

  1. Zen, Ana, or Kiriko, pick your poison.

All the highest ranked support players I know of peak on one of these three, all recommend them for climbing, and I’ve seen and experienced first-hand how nice they feel to play. That said I’d rate Kiriko as the lowest because she does most of her damage when abusing swift-step to enable aggression and risky plays. In those short windows lower skilled players aren’t going to do enough damage, and damage is what carries games.

My beloved - Kiriko
S - Lucio, Ana, Mercy , Baptiste
A - Zen , Moira , Brig

Yes! It’s what you’ve all been waiting for! It’s
Forum User Potatoad’s Scrubby Support Tier Listℱ!

Top tier: Kiriko, Ana
“Not as good but whatever, it’s cool” tier: most of the others
“Not bad but I’d rather you went someone else” tier: Brig, Mercy

Brig’s great when she’s great but she’s
not so great in other situations. Comps can vary wildly down here so being less of an all-rounder is more of a drawback.

Mercy’s over-rated at lower level play because blue beam depends on other players being good. Now she’s a bit easier to pressure, too. Raw healing done numbers are all well and good, but honestly you can get those with other characters while bringing more of everything else.

I don’t feel that way because Bionade is so powerful that it can compel me to switch to Kiriko and save Suzu exclusively for it. Just because a direct support counter now exists doesn’t mean that Bio isn’t a game-maker, but on top of that the rest of Ana’s kit is extremely good, too. Ana’s still going to get value out of healing, Nano, possibly Sleep (depending on the player) and even a bit of poke damage.

Imo Brig and Mercy are lowest tiers.

Brig is very good in some situations but she definetely lacks of survivability because she needs to turnaround before escaping ; if her shield is still up ; otherwise she’s doomed.
She also lacks of a way to heal during trench war situation (when the teams face without close contact).

Mercy has high mobility but her heals is one of the weakest. She’s very passive and has a very low impact by herself.

Moira imo isn’t lowest tier. She lacks of utility for sure but her decent DPS and mobility allows her to be everywhere everytime, thanks to her duelling power and her high healing potential, she’s very flexible.

Imo Ana is still a top support. Sleep, grenade and highest healing on one target, she’s just dangerous.

Imo Bap is hard to rank as there are very few Bap players around and even fewer goo players but once you cross one, man he’s strong. So I’d put him mid tier.

Repeating a lie does not make it true but simply shows a fundamental lack of understanding on your part of both ranks, heroes, and metas.

First Lucio is probably one of the most meta dependent Support heroes of all because when he is not a fit in the comp he is trash. Not “very good” but trash. If you are not a comp that takes advantage of speed all you have is a hero with poor AoE healing, no direct healing, and a mid tier ultimate. That is looking at him through the best scope. The amount of games you would lose, again at higher ranks where the hero choice matters, because they simply have real Supports and you had a Lucio was staggering. Basically for the 2-3 years of OW1 to oversimplify you could basically boil it down to “DO we have Rein (for some reason)? If yes, be Lucio; if no please be ANY other Support and we will do better.”

That is not how tiers work also. In general gameplay every single hero Diamond or lower is equal. All that matters in those games is not your hero pick but simply how well you play with hero, how well you play the map (think positioning), how you manage your abilities, how you play with your team, and how you play your opponents. These are the fundamental basics of OW and people do not even start to do them well until you reach high Diamond. They are also so overwhelmingly more important than everything else that the ability to do them is the sole determinate of your rank up until Masters. Not your hero choice or how easy or hard the hero is but simply the above requirements.

Now obviously synergizing is good but it does not matter if you are picking some comp that is considered bad because if you play it correctly you will win and if you play a “real” comp worse you will lose because that is all that matters there. Every hero is A tier because A tier is the tier of “can be good on any map but not mandatory” and that is true of every hero in the metal ranks.

Now once you master those basics, or at least play them at a high level, the meta then shines through. A Diamond Rein is the same as a Diamond Hog and a Diamond Ram and a Diamond Ball. The same is true of DPS and is true of Supports. However, right now a GM Ball is a Masters Zarya. That is just one of the differences between low and high ranks.

For many supports I think it depends on what comp they are being played with. Like zen and bap are either mediocre or pretty damn good depending on their tank and dps. Heroes like kiriko and mercy atm are just great regardless of comp.
