How would you implement an LGBT character?

No, Overwatch released in May of 2016.

Until December 2016, Reflection comic which was released in December 2016 (this was also when we learned that Tracer was gay and people were upset over that reveal too). We knew Torb had kids and grandkids but not how he had them (adoption is a thing). So early but not “the beginning” and nothing absolutely confirmed.

That means that Torb’s sexuality reveal with the publication of that letter in Feb 2018 when he wrote to his pregnant wife about the loss of his arm and telling Rein that Rein could name the child his wife is carrying. And no one cared that Torb was married to a woman and having kids with her.

No one got upset when they first heard Sam’s name from Pharah and Ana confirming he was Pharah’s father, either, or when they first saw the “newborn” spray in 2017.

The only confirmed sexuality from the beginning was Widowmaker who killed her husband.

Please note, Ana, Widowmaker, and Torb, could also be bisexual people that are/were in straight relationships. Statistically, bisexual people are much more likely to partner up someone of the opposite sex than someone of the same sex.
