How would YOU 'fix' Reaper?

Then this is just impressive considering Reaper was the fourth least picked hero during season 3 tank meta

I would not be surprised if Reaper players were performing well–much like other off meta picks, Reaper tends to have a good winrate. However, Reaper as a hero certainly has never flourished beyond beyblade in season 2

The devs just need to decide what kind of character they want Reaper to be. It kinda feels like they are trying to do two or more things at once with him. Tank buster or deadly flanker?

First: Allowing his shotguns can bypass any barrier in game but removing the ability of headshot.

Second: Wraith Form will be instant like Moira teleport but his HP will be reduced to 150. The auto reload during this form will be removed

Third: Teleport will be removed but in exchange his shots will prevent the character he attack being healed for 3 secs. Cooldown 9 secs duration 3 Secs this can stack with his ultimate

It’s really his teleport that makes me mad

Cut the cast time of teleport by 75%. Change the animation for teleport to be subtle - his teleport spot should no longer “glow” and when he uses it, the animation of him should rise up from the ground instead of instantly appearing in place. This can allow him to be more sneaky like he is intended to be and maybe even let him use it in battle and get out alive.

Shadow Step should be reworked, so it wouldn’t be almost guaranteed free headshot.

No no; the band doesn’t need to be big, it needs to be tight.

-New Ability “Smog”

Sends out a smoke canister unleashing a small dome shaped cloud of smoke. Allies and Reaper have full vision through the cloud while enemies no vision through the sides but can in the center (think Winstons shield but you cant see through. I know its wored weird) of the dome.

Targeted abilities still work and enemies are still able to see ally voicelines and callouts.

Example: Mei inside Reaper smog and wants to be healed by Ana. Ana cant see Mei but Mei presses the “I need healing” button and the icon is still shown.

It is almost always inevitably shadowstep.

Let him engage easier so he can work at his optimal range.

After that it is probably armor.

  • decrease teleport cast time and arrival time by .5s

  • new alt-fire: Hellfire Grenade Launcher
    Uses mouse wheel to select ammo
    Fires 3 rapid shots
    Hellfire Grenades: Damage 50 impact, 25-10 splash damage in 3’ radius.

Nightfall Grenades: 0 damage, explode on location creating 3, 3’ radius clouds (9’x9’) allows Repaer and his team mates to see unobstructed enemy outlines, team mates are visible. Duration 5s.

After use it enters a 15s cool down and returns to primary fire fully reloaded.

Teleport functions like doomfist’s ultimate. Removes reaper from the map, gives him a bird view and he may reappear on a location (without any damage of course because this is a teleport not metor strike).

  • Basic attacks ignore armor
  • Shadow step removed
  • Wraith form grants free horizontal and vertical mobility
  • Give Deathblossom damage ramp-up
    • 150 dmg/s at the start
    • 250 dmg/s at the end

Reaper NEEDS to be able to use BOTH skills offensively AND defensively, just like tracer and genji, so buffs/reworks should be done :

  • Shadow Step : No casting time, keep sound queue, make it like Fade from Moira but visible. Improve the targetting, Reaper receives 50% less damage when materializing again
  • Alt fire: Hell damage. Does 100 per shot. 20 pellets flat 5 damage. It drains life from target so ignores armor

Give him a mobility ability that will let him dive who he’s after. Kinda like a Moira fade or Winston leap

Reaper has a very limited effective Range.
The only way to counter this is to give him more mobility.
Give him a Rightclick on a short cooldown that let’s him float in half-wraith form (He can’t shoot, but can be shot BUT he can elevate himself or something) like in the cinematicy, so he doesn’t have to wait for “Forever to cooldown shadow-step”

give him 3m more effective range and he’s good, 5m and he’s grossly op

Fixing the shadow step would help a lot. That is most likely the weak link in his kit. Also, they could tone down his footsteps. For someone who needs to get close he has rather heavy steps with all “DEATH COMES!!!”.

shadow step is not supposed to be used like a tracer blink though, you should use it before the fight to get behind the enemy and assassinate them from behind

i almost never see people do this, but there was this one reaper on nepal who was crazy good, he always oneshot me on zen from the weirdest angles right after the team had passed and then got out with wraith back on the point

i never heard anything because every time we were sent to spawn he already waited in the dark

most reapers you see in plat just teleport in front of everyone and then walk in a straight line behind the enemy and shoot until they’re out of ammo or dead

Im totaly set on switching shadowstep with an ability like Moiras Fade(after all she made him), but on a 12 sec CD , cause it would solve the Problem of him getting where he needs to be.
After Fading he has this 12 sec Window to do stuff, if it gets to hot in the inbetween time theres Wraitform and after he did his job(or atleast tryed) he can disengage with it.
This would atleast give him options to handle a fight, caus right now hes having trouble getting in the Fight and moreso getting out of it.
Also his DMG should be % based on HP, so no more squishy 1 Shots but also no more Tankscratching.

It depends on what you are using it on, bulls get a much bigger one than a cat just to put it into perspective.
