Honestly, throw Soldier in the ‘boring ults that could use a rework’ bin while you’re at it.
Generic shooter man gets generic shooter hack as an ult. Generic sniper lady gets generic shooter hack as an ult.
Would love for both their ults to be more interesting.
Remember that this is done intentionally for people that comes from playing traditional shooters and are looking for a character that suits them. Just like Mercy was intentionally designed to give players who want to help more than hurt a hero.
Changing them would actually be a negative for the game. Battlerite failed due to lack of accommodation like this.
I feel like you can create more interesting ults for the two that still fits with their theme and design as easy transitions from other traditional shooters, though.
Aimbot and wallhacks just kinda feel… lazy, I guess?

I suggest people do this, by the way. I’ve been told that “you don’t have to play widow to see why she’s broken”, but I don’t understand that opinion. How can you truly understand something without first hand experience?
Also, I think widow’s a glass cannon, but I think she straight up isn’t while she’s being pocketed, and that is an issue. I’m not even talking about damage boost; any healer consistently healing widow does make her a problem.
And didn’t another person on here say “Genji’s nerfs makes it harder to kill widow”? If so, I agree. You could actually kill a widow while she was being pocketed as Genji, but now that’s much tougher.
New ult:
3 God rounds - These now pierce any and all geometry, there is no more hiding. Infrasight still occurs as well but for less duration
I would change it to be like a spartan laser with a few changes.
Scoping in would no longer automatically charge the rifle. You would have to hold down LMB for 0.5 seconds.
During the 0.5 seconds a small beam appears, visible to enemies that deals 80DPS (can headshot) at the end of the 0.5 second charge time a large beam that deal 80damage shoots out.
Essentially, you coul deal the same damage as current Widow (300 damage headshot) but this would require you to perfectly track the enemies head for 0.5 seconds to do so and the beam would be visible throughout it.
Some numbers would have to be buffed because this would be a LOT weaker than current Widow.
EASY
STEP 1: Make her headshot modifier 2.0x instead of 2.5x
STEP 2: Have the scope charge slightly faster until 80 damage (whatever %charge that is; maybe 67%?)
STEP 3: Once the scope %charge hits 80 damage, the scope charge speed sharply decreases
STEP 4: Have the scoped shot hitscan shot be bigger (maybe 2x the current size), BUT have the hitscan shot size get SMALLER as the scoped %charge increases
STEP 5: Once the scoped %charge hits 80 damage the hitscan shot size is back to its current size (from it getting smaller), BUT after 80 damage it gets EVEN SMALLER
“WHY, DAWG.” This does three things: shifts her value away from a gimmick, helps out lower ranks and less skilled players, and still keeps her competitive and viable.

Right now, majority of Widow’s value is her one-shots. Sure, she can pick off low health enemies, but it’s still majorly through headshots. What I proposed gives her more value to bodyshots and less of a focus on xXxHEADSHOTS ONLYxXx. Headshots are still super valuable, but if you’re not landing headshot after headshot you can still find value in the easier to hit and easier to charge for damage bodyshots, unlike currently where you HAVE to be landing headshots, especially one-shots. One-shots are still super valuable too, but they’re harder to hit because the damage needed to one-shot someone full health (200 as the prime example) takes longer to charge to AND the hitscan shot size is smaller than it is currently.
So, in essence, bodyshots are encouraged, headshots still remain, and it allows one-shots to still exist but they are harder to achieve.

As seen above, bodyshots being more encouraged with also a bigger hitscan shot size for them will help lower ranks and less skilled players as Widow’s skill floor is lowered.

Since she can still headshot and one-shot, her viability is still there. It’s just harder to achieve one-shots as her skill ceiling is higher, though (with the longer charge time and smaller hitscan shot size). Masters to pro players shouldn’t have much difficulty adjusting as the smaller hitscan shot size shouldn’t be an issue for them.

Decrease health to 175 (This is a given because she’s better than in OW1 and in OW1 she had 175)
Decrease her max fall off so she can’t just one shot you on the otherside of the map uncontested, id prefer her to play at a more Ashe range being contestable but her keeping the oneshot.
The real problem with widow is not the oneshot its the fact she can one shot and then survive because how far away she is with all the support.

I respect that. But isn’t a Hero with 200hp not called squishes? Plus she has no shield or any way to heal herself without a Support or finding a health pack. In my opinion with such little health/no self healing and high damage she is a glass cannon. Just my opinion though, I respect where you’re coming from though.
Then how can she contribute to the team if she is having to retreat a lot? Or limits her positioning? She isn’t really on the frontline.
It’s a shame you don’t play anymore, it would be nice to play and talk to someone who knows a lot about the game and can actually have a conversation about it. Would have loved to have learned a few things.
By getting a kill before she has to retreat, and playing closer to be team.
But playing closer to her team like that at all times could make it to were she needs to be babysat more and is unable to carry her weight for the team especially since she is a squishy. One less squishy for the tank to worry about if she is able to keep herself at range.

You don’t think it’s fair for a character that limits the positioning of the entire enemy team, to get their positioning limited?
Realistic changes? (so assuming one shots stay in the game, which they will in spite of what most want. Blizzard is too concerned with preserving her ‘identity as a one shot hero’ to rework that part of her kit)
A few options:
For all options, widow’s ammo and/or charge reduced so that she has 5 charged shots max before reloading
But she isn’t team swipe killing as soon as they leave spawn, she can only kill one at a time, how is that the whole enemy team? With only 200 hp and being a squishy, she has to be able to survive but also carry her weight. The tank shouldn’t have to babysit the sniper and try and do their tank roles also.
But change her shot from one bullet to a tri shot 50 a hit from one each. Headshot 1.5 multiplier. Hit gives a 10 sec poison effect on the target for 3 secs. Still has one shot for 200 HP heroes but charge take 1 sec to fully charge up.
