How to Positively change the battlepass! [Change Needed]

Give.
Players.
Overwatch.
Currency.

Every standard battlepass has 200 - 300 currency throughout tiers, which accumulates to having enough to buy the next season battlepass, or some skins. Overwatch doesn’t do this, why? Good question.

Including Overwatch Currency into the battlepass would make it one of the best, if not, THE BEST battlepass in modern-gaming history. This is an extremely positive change to the overall environment of micro-transactions if they change the system.

Therefore:

  • Buying the Battlepass is a net gain for everything.
  • More insentive to buy the battlepass.
  • Less predatory for players.
  • Actually worth the money.

There’s literally no Cons for adding Currency to the battle pass, for players, and for blizzard.

10 currency per tier as a bare minimum is my suggestion.

Would work.
But Honestly, I like the idea of getting my Coins in a large number;

like 300.

idk, why. It just feels rewarding i guess. But that works also!

It’s such a rewarding experience and also I want some flashing lights and a noise lol. The little things make it so nice

Could be 100 every 10 tiers, 200 every 20 etc.

Battle Passes are suppose to give you currency and/or a way to get the next Battle Pass. There needs to be justice done.

Doesn’t have to be like that.

Let me do the math rq:

Okay, so there’s 80 battle pass tiers.

Every 20 Tiers they could give out 250 overwatch coins.
So it looks like this:

Tier 1 - 250
Tier 20 - 250
Tier 40 - 250
Tier 60 - 250
Tier 80 - 250

So, from this:

You receive 1,250 Overwatch coins.

(Which is a net gain of 250 overwatch coins).

I was just accumulating the “10 per tier” I suggested into bigger amounts without affecting the total amount gained. Of course the more coins earned, the better.

I just like the way Fortnite battlepass works.
They give coins in Bulk.

This alone would make a HUGE change in the pass. Hell, doesn’t even have to be that much. I feel like anywhere in the 300-500 range as you level the pass would be fine as getting at least 50 coins per week on weekly challenges should be doable for most folks that play OW a bunch. Even a more casual player should at least be able to hit 30 coins a week.

400 would likely be a good sweet spot when combined with weeklies. If you hit 60 every week, between maxing out a pass and weeklies that’s 880. 2-3 more weeks on top of that gets you another pass (or you could spend a few bucks for a small amount of coins)

I feel like that’d be a win all around.

This topic needs to get more attention:triumph::ok_hand:

Yes, this would make it feel a lot better and we need a battle pass to succeed.

Blizzard misses the point that high play times or customer loyalty is also a form of currency benefitting the company.

They could improve it by getting rid of Styrofoam quality cosmetics.

It doesn’t make sense for them to give you enough coins to buy a new battle pass, otherwise whats the point in paying for a battle pass if you can just grind for it.

A bare minimum 1,000 credits from the BP is mandatory in terms of the bigger picture. Every other BP I’ve seen has at least that and usually offer more as well. While it’s kind of sad OW2 BP doesn’t do at least this, I expect that to change. Since it looks like another quick and easy money scheme to finesse as much at launch as possible. Gotta keep them investors interested…

This is where, cosmetic items and special events come to play.

You’ll want to spend some coins on new skins.

I’m calling it now. They will change the system to be more consumer-friendly in the future, then act like “Aren’t we SUCH a great company to listen to our customers?.. even though we intentionally bloated the prices and crap in order to figure out what we can get away with (and get fat quickly from the whales) while still having this leeway to adjust them later but PLEASE PRAISE US NOW! This is totally not a PR move.”

But yeah, I agree they absolutely need to do something since the amount of coins you earn (8 months grind for a single Legendary skin??) and the prizes are preposterous.

OW2 will be dead by the time they pull their heads out of their a$$es and do something even remotely consumer-friendly.
