We could all be playing 6v6 right now in custom games, but nobody wants to set up and maintain a lobby. For as much flak as we give the devs for being lazy, this community is far worse in that regard.

It’s really not that bad in open queue. Open queue almost always has two tanks on a team, and Mauga and Hog are very popular.

Never had a issue with 6v6 from the beginning and up to now never had. Atleast it was fun for having 3 dps, 2 tanks, and 2 to 3 healers.
Imagine a Rein and Ram Duo 
On the plus side though, this would render shields mostly useless and brawl would be hard meta which I like
Why do people who say these things act like they wouldn’t be changed at all to fit in a 2-2-2 environment? Like how disingenuous can you be? They obviously wouldn’t be exactly as they are in 5v5 RQ.
It’s not nostalgia. It’s annoying as hell to see people dismiss people who like a different format of the game as just being “nostalgia”.
I can only speak for myself here, but I do not prefer a dumbed down, worse version of the game that I love. Which is what it is now. Nearly every part of this game is now worse for me, the gameplay loop is more boring and takes less skill. It’s less fun.
So no. Nostalgia isn’t the reason I’d prefer to play a 6v6 format of the game. It’s because for me the gameplay is better on a fundamental level. You can disagree, that’s fine. But you don’t speak for me.

OP never liked OW that much is clear.
they will never be pleased they want double and triple shield with probably the damage buffs to tanks to remain as well liekly

namely - OW classic
Better if they can make 5v5 open Q into 6v6 open Q - No one takes that mode seriously anyway

Open queue does not work. There is no cohesion, ever. Nobody wants to touch a mic or type in chat due to the toxicity as well as the bans undeserved auto bans.
Two playlists. 6v6 RQ and 5v5 RQ. I say ‘survival of the fittest’. I’m willing to bet that after a few months of 6v6 RQ back in the mix, and some time to make adjustments to some of these heroes, you’ll be resorting to custom games to find anyone who would prefer playing 5v5.

That wouldn’t be acceptable because it would be extremely imbalanced, not have a comp mode, still have OW2 heroes etc. Adding 6v6 that’s nothing like OW1 won’t please anybody.
The solution is to release an Overwatch Classic and let people just play what they want.
Its not nostalgia, Who even asked for 5v5.

For me personally this would be fine, since I only play OQ modes, and its also where tanks and tank stacking is by far the most broken. I imagine a lot of RQ players still want 6v6 though.
I do also think it’s important to note that simply being 6v6 isnt the important aspect. It needs to be balanced for 6v6 too. If all they did was add one more player per team but didnt actually tune any of the heroes for it, it would be far worse than both 5v5 and OW1 6v6

You know what’s a bit funny about the nostalgia comments? The 5v5/6v6 debate has been around ever since they announced 5v5. It’s been around on day 1 of OW2. It’s been around on day 100. On day 200. On day 300. And it is still around.
Apparently this nostalgia is so strong, people have been “nostalgic” even before the game moved to 5v5

Exactly its ridiculous, it’s almost as if we know what we want D:
They’ll probably just talk about it briefly and be like “we’ll do a quickplay hacked with 6v6 for a week or two” then come out after and say “we’re not doing 6v6 because queue times” and hope that the 6v6 crowd lose steam.
I agree with pretty much everything here except this. There’s no Pay to Win in the game now. BP-locked heroes was definite P2W, but with them no longer being in the BP, there’s no P2W left.

Even if the suggested is never going to happen, I think that the openQ made unnecessary split that we need to get rid of. The game should have QP/Competitive only modes for 5v5 and that’s it. All these trashy arcades and stuff should be unlisted too.
There are a huge number of players who do not and will nto even play the normal modes. Putting Open Queue back in Arcade, I would agree with, but not getting rid of Arcade.
