How to make Mei a symbol of freedom?

This idea is being forced already, but how can we contribute to it and make it spread throughout the entire community more?

I don’t think Hong Kong would even be an independent administrative region in Overwatch anymore. The handover should have left Hong Kong unchanged until 2047. The game takes place more than 28 years in the future. Most estimates put it at ~60 years in the future, in 2076.

We demand to add the part of story where Mei was fighting China for Honk Kong freedom.
It is done. She is a symbol of Honk Kong revolution; whenever you like it or not, Blizzard.

We also demand pro-Honk Kong skin for Mei.

Mei is from Xi’an and was born ~20 years from now - why would she be pro Hong Kong?

Damn, totally forgot about that.

So, more seriously, when you have a game who’s story-line revolves entirely around heroism, valor, courage, and fighting for values like freedom, equality, and various interpretations of justice…

And then your corporate owner goes and publicly aligns itself with a totalitarian government that directly contradicts those values, what happens to your story? Does it have any meaning any more? Does it convey any real values, or does it just become a terrible self-parody?

This is kind of new territory for Blizzard, and it looks uncomfortable to say the least.
