How to help my sister out of Bronze

But, to stay in bronze you need to lose more than that. Regardless, the reality is, that doesn’t happen hardly ever at all, lol. People aren’t just throwing games and staying in bronze, lol. This forum is just hard cope.

If this kid really has a sister in bronze, she belongs there. As does everyone that is there. (except for the few smurfs, that honestly have little to NO effect on ranking up other players).

I’m the only one using mine in this conversation it seems, I’m not having an opinion on assumptions and stating it as fact. I’m keeping an open mind and thinking critically.

Question everything.

You have zero experience in bronze but you are speaking like you have a masterclass in it

I don’t need to question common sense.

You are NOT using it, lol.

Hey Star, i have a suggestion.

If you believe your sister may not be bronze skilled anymore, after you’ve taught her some good tips. She can try start a new account and redo her qp levelup games and placements.

She might place silver or higher. As her mmr isn’t as locked.

I’ve read posts of some players stuck in bronze have done this successfully.

Of course, I have gone over a few of her replays before too, but I should probably be doing even more of that. Really making it a regular thing. She also lurks in my threads and has taken note of the advice that I had been given; the same advice that helped me climb from Silver to Plat on Support

We’ve played a few games grouped up by now, and it seems to be going surprisingly well so far. On our very first match, which was on King’s Row, I noted to her how her positioning seemed good. She was actually doing a VERY good job of surviving as Juno, seemed to know when to disengage and everything, and we got a solid win there. Of course I also played a very vicious Mei, which helped things. Somehow I ended up getting five endorsements after that insanity. I felt like a goddess

Anyway, I don’t think she’s actually Bronze. I’m pretty sure actual Bronze players don’t have the gamesense that she’s demonstrating. I’m confident that, at this rate, she’ll be leaving it behind soon. We’re doing great together

I have been a fearsome stealth bomber since sometime in OW1, please have mercy

We don’t really have the means to make alts, but thankfully the duoing thing is going very well. If this keeps up, she should be in Silver before too long

People seem to think I’m trolling when I say Zenyatta is the best support in the game for this reason but I’m not

That sounds great! Glad to hear you’re both doing well together. Maybe when she hits silver and starts solo queuing there, if you can ask her if it’s easier or harder than bronze?

Mainly for my curiosity as no matter what she says, something tells me nothing will change applesoups mind on the purported issues with bronze games.

Definitely, I’m going to be keeping a close eye on how she’s doing once the time comes for her to go back to solo queue. The leavers may continue to be an issue–I’m pretty sure I even remember seeing them more often in high Silver than I do now in Gold or Plat–but I think the levels of cursed nonsense should start going down at least

When I ironed out some of my own crucial mistakes and started climbing out of Silver myself, I remember it happening VERY quickly. Even though she has been paying attention to the very same advice that I was getting, though, and I tried to apply that same knowledge when I coach her, it hasn’t seemed to help her get out of Bronze like it did for me in Silver. Something is definitely odd about it

I’d almost say Zen or Brigitte are surprising carry potentials. Zenyatta for purely killing things around you, denying enemy big ult plays, and still passively helping your team with healing. A huge emphasis on aiming better than literally everyone else in the lobby.

Brigitte if you are not as aim intensive, but more tactically oriented you can fit the bill of executioner combo, savior on healing, and tank in ult for situational stall or push.

I got stuck in bronze when I was a diamond (all roles). You do not understand how bad the people are down there. You can kill all 6 and still not take point. It has happened to me… Multiple times. It’s easier to just make a new account. It will save you countless hours.

the best advice i can give is play someone who is easy to play like moira mercy, juno is good too. and to just work on positioning and just staying back most of the fights because people in low ranks don’t take cover and need heals 24/7 or they lose. but ana is really viable with her whole kit.

OK, we just stopped playing for the night. Update on how things are going so far: we played 10 matches, and went 8-2. She just reached Silver now as of our last match

We will be duoing again next time we play, and keep doing so until she reaches about 50% in Silver 5. Then we’ll see how her solo queue goes. If the leavers and whatnot are still a problem, then we’ll start duoing again, maybe until she’s in Silver 4 this time. Just taking it nice and slow to avoid her possibly climbing too high, just far enough away from Bronze to avoid the nonsense

It’s evil to play mei

Mei players are pure evil beings
Nothing goddess like on mei except her curves

Give me a bronze account, what’s the bet I can do it?

Is that a bet? I’ll give you 10 to 1 odds. I just need a bronze account.

Certain play styles can’t get you out of certain ranks but will definitely work in higher ranks. Heal botting is one of them.

In bronze if you are playing support, you have to do everything. Including “Tanking”.
You have the tools for it and if you stack with 1 person that knows how to play, the chances of climbing are stupidly high.

Just dont play like a Diamond/Plat that relies on team mates. Make call outs and use your team mates as bait.

(Yes, I know that last one is harsh but it is what it is. Unless you are a DPS/Tank, you have to do that to climb easy).

Yeah, duo with her, if she is bad, she will go back there, but honestly, there is a lot of bronzies which when they finally get out, go straight to mid gold or so.

It has been a LONG time since I was down there, but bronze is a tar pit.

Easiest way out of bronze solo queuing is using Moira honestly. Take matters into your own hands. You can’t fully rely on your DPS or tanks down there.

Honestly, have her be somewhat aggressive. Shoot the enemy as well as healing her teammates. Part of being a great support is understanding the balance between the two.

Also, I’d have her stick with Juno. LW is far too passive of a playstyle. Juno can be much more aggressive but also enable more aggression with her speed ring. IMO she should also add Ana into her hero pool just because she has the same idea as Juno just without the speed. Learning to position on Ana and make aggressive plays with nade could potentially help her Juno mindset also. Juno needs more dynamic positioning which is actually harder too. Ana is the easier of the two heroes to play.

Also, make sure she has trigger discipline. It will help her aim a lot and on aim dependent heroes like Juno that’s important.
