  • restart console, you should see the green xbox screen when booting up
  • wired headset, go to audio settings, toggle headset off then on
  • wireless headset, go to settings > device streaming > accessories and verify it’s assigned to the right account.

How to fix Overwatch on your Xbox System:

  1. Pick up your entire system and toss it into the nearest recycling bin.
  2. Pick up a PS4, Switch, or PC.

These work arounds never worked for me as I have a completely wireless headset that connects to the Xbox like a controller does.

My workaround:

  • Create a xbox party (with just yourself)
  • Leave the party
  • Force close overwatch (guide button highlight overwatch game > menu button > force quit)
  • Start overwatch (it should show the Winston movie)

Worked everytime so far.
