How to fix 6v6 queue times and problems EASY!

NEW ROLE: Hybrid. Mei, Bastion, Zarya, Junkerqueen, and Roadhog moved to Hybrid role.

6v6 role lock is now 1 tank, 3 dps, 2 supports.

DPS players can select up to a maximum of 1 hybrid character.

Tanks maintain all their current buffs. Tanks that are moved to hybrid role lose 200 HP but maintain all of their cooldown buffs and have their hitbox reduced. Mei gains 50 HP and Bastion has his tank form on a resource meter.

By having their HP pools reduce hybrids (formerly, off-tanks) will actually compete with DPS in power level by offering a trade off between insane abilities that tend to help in the tank battle and abities that tend to help in the pick off battle.

Particularly self sufficient tanks or tank players may find it advantagous to have a triple-dps comp due to the multiple threat angles they can provide. On the other hand sometimes more resource hungry tanks like winston or Doomfist could benefit from a zarya bubble, even if she has limited range and is a target with her reduced health pool.

With their reduced health pools, Hybrids will not necessarily have an advantageous 1v1 with pure dps characters and hybrid mains will need to focus on using their powerful resources efficiently (likely in synergy with their tank) to have impact.

Overall, the queue times issue would be greatly mitigated as many of the popular heroes (such as doomfist) would still be in Tank, main tank style tanks would be able to do their job instead of exploding like in OW1, greater freedom and decision making would be afforded to both teams, and “tanks” that were designed as off tanks can go back to their original design.

Finally, and most importantly, it would be literally impossible to pick 2 shield tanks (or two mitigation tanks like rein and ram).

Congrats you enabled dive comp, and killed most of it’s competition.

Yeah I am unsure about D.va in hybrid she kind of broke the game in pro play ow1.

Ya swap her with like ball/mauga, and I think you got a better set in that catagory. were the rest are rebalanced to be somewhere between tank and dps.

The idea is bad because you did not restore DPS Doomfist.

I want to keep popular heroes in tank if they function there for the queue times man.

The solution is obvious: 0v0.

To fix queue times? balance the tank role properly and make it more accessible to average players.

But guys seriously again… we don’t know what queue times look like in a proper game. When the role lock came around in ow1, the meta was double shield… and it stayed that way for 3 years straight. no one is going to want to play that.

if that STILL doesn’t work for queue times.

Seperate the role that actually has the high population (dps) into attack and defense DPS heroes.

Then you can keep 2 tanks, while splitting the population that’s the actual outlier for the game.

Actually no, it broke down over time for a few reasons. Even tho it was still playable the shield nerfs, and a powershift breaking up the halt into rock combo, and ball being released. De throned it as top dog.

We actually moved to hog/ball meta, then back into a dive ish sort of thing.
