Runescape is half of that and you don’t need to pay for expansions and OSRS is pretty popular
Also so much of WoW is literal dead content and it’s sad for the price, they need to do a “BIG BANG” like Maple Story did when things became that bad and empty lol

Also that per month cost gets me access to every, cosmetic, armour peice, and mount in the game without having to pay anythi g extra, battle pass only lets you earn what is included in the battle pass so you still have to pay for extra, WoW is still the cheaper choice and gice access to way more stuff
If OW implemented a subscription fee that gave players acess to everything in the game cosmetics and all you do was earn it through acheivements and activities like in an MMO i wouldnt be arguing
If they did the 6 month annual fee (77.94 every 6 months) it would be $155.88 a year
if they did the monthly annual fee (14.99 every month) it would be $179.88
So let’s say they have played for 5 years from smth like 2016 to 2021 and if these subscription prices have always been the same
That means in 5 years they would have paid
$779.40 (6 month annual method)
$899.40 (1 month method)
And let’s say they release
6 battle passes a year for OW and they are $10 each that’s obvious 60 and across 5 years it’s $300… that’s wayyyy less than u would ever spend on WoW and that’s not including the $40 expansions wow has lol
And OW has tons of replayable content and you don’t even have to buy these battle passes as the game is absolutely free, u can’t pass level 20 without buying WoW and most of the content on WoW is completely dead, not only that you sit in queues for hours waiting for a raid unless you’re part of a big guild etc.
I just said a battle pass only gets you access to the stuff in the battle pass and you have to pay extra for anything outside that, a subscription fee gets you access to everything
Temporarily for how long you pay for it, once you don’t pay the subscription fee you lose access to it already, even if you paid full price for every single expansion
I have no issue with a subscription fee thats gets me access to everythibg in the game and everything added all i would have to do is earn them in game
If I don’t get to the max level then I don’t purchase anything. DBD has a battlepass and I have yet to purchase it due to the grind involved. Not going to pay for something and only get half of the items.
If you want people to log in and play your game, make a better product.
Yeah I really hate the FOMO concept, trying to get that reaper skin felt like OW was more of a chore than actually trying to have fun, I was getting frustrated losing a game because I know I got less points for winning and it takes even longer now since they require like 30 points or w.e it is lol.
Lose access yes but it is always there you just pay for the month and everything is there, i have no issues with paying to play as ling as it is a resonable price and i have access to everything
I would play WoW more if they didn’t have a subscription, I wish they would make it so you had to buy the game and then all the expansions u would have to buy if u wanted to unlock that part of the game
I think $14.99 is extremely overpriced for the lack of content, which they mostly only add when they add an expansion, meanwhile Runescape is half of that for a sub, and u can easily just get bonds for membership and they do a far better job adding content and don’t hide it behind a $40 expansion pack.
They make so much money from subscriptions, so I don’t know why they need to charge for the expansions too, they do it because they know y’all will buy them
Here’s the good part, YOU DON’T HAVE TO. You still able to enjoy the core mechanic of overwatch even though you don’t buy the battlepass. It’s just skins, dude. Doesn’t really affect your gameplay. With subs you can’t even play the game if you don’t pay.

DbD’s battlepass system is horrendous. If anything, OW2’s BP system will be more traditional like Fortnite’s.
This a novel idea a subscription then you get access to the whole game, dont have to pay extra for and skins or maps, you just earn the skins by playing the game, company still getting the money to run the servers and add content, but if you can pay for oh well play a different game
They can’t even convince you of all people to pay $9.99 for an optional Battlepass, and you expect them to make you pay for a subscription. Yea, clever.
They should just allow access to previous battlepasses with the monthly battlepass except have the previous bp exp gain rate doubled.
Ok i will say this one more time, battle pass only gives you access to the stuff in the battle pass, anything else costs extra, a subscription fee gives you access to EVERYTHING
The deadlines are usually generous. Every battle pass I have seen is designed to be easily completed 1-2 weeks before the deadline if you just play casually, let alone grind 24/7.
They might exist but I have never seen a battle pass that rushes you to complete it because the time limit is so strict.
For season 1 I will probably get it right off the bat since I got the watchpoint pack. But for the next seasons, this will be my strategy considering recession is hitting and I truly do not know how busy or not busy I will be. I’ve done this for COD and whatnot- worked each time and eased my conscience.
The game was initially gifted to me on release but I only started playing this year. I never bought loot boxes or the OG game- so buying the watchpoint pack for me at least was justified since I wanted the premium battle pass, 2k virtual currency, the 2 skins (idk if they’re exclusive to it or what they’re worth on their own… but hey, more stuff), and the added bonus of beta access. (I am on console).

It isn’t. The newer battle passes have different skins behind them.
It doesn’t mean that you have to time out the old one.
You may take it off sale after a certain time, but you don’t have to put it a completion date, and I expect they won’t.
