How the heck do i disable controller?

so ive been playing a few platformers with a controller recently…and ive noticed that every now and then OW picks up the controller (im sure its a trigger thats registered as being depressed)…its extremely rare but still annoying when it happens…so i went ahead and unbound every single controller keybind in game…and yet it still happens…

so how the heck do i disable it from being detected…like ever…theres gotta be an option somewhere

There is an option in Gameplay Options to prevent the gamplay HUD from switching to controller icons and symbols.

However if there is movement or abilities being triggered because you have your controller plugged in, that is more likely due to faulty hardware in that controller and you should unplug the controller entirely.
