How overwatch 1 felt like

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to have your funny bones tickled as we dive into the hilarious world of Overwatch: Reforged! Get ready for a tale of gaming shenanigans, featuring none other than the cheeky masterminds at Activision.

So, here’s the scoop, folks. Imagine this: Activision had the audacity to charge us not once, but TWICE for the privilege of playing the same old game. It’s like going to a buffet and being told you have to pay twice to visit the dessert table. Outrageous, right? I mean, who needs financial stability when you can have double the fun of handing over your hard-earned cash?

But wait, it gets even zanier! Instead of using that extra dough to enhance the game itself, they decided to open up a Monified Game Store Shop extravaganza! That’s right, they took our money and built a virtual emporium where you can buy all sorts of digital goodies. It’s like buying a ticket to a concert, only to find out the musicians are now selling overpriced merchandise in the middle of the show. Talk about multitasking!

Now, in this virtual wonderland, you can splurge on all kinds of fabulous items. Want a snazzy skin for your favorite hero? No problem! Just cough up a few more bucks and enjoy the thrill of looking different in a game. It’s like dressing up a digital doll, except your parents can’t yell at you for spending too much money on clothes. Well played, Activision, well played.

But here’s the real kicker: The money they charged us TWICE, yes TWICE, for Overwatch: Reforged went straight into their Monified Game Store Shop. It’s like they devised an elaborate scheme to drain our wallets, all while making us think it’s a grand opportunity for customization. It’s like watching a magician perform a trick, only to realize he’s actually stealing your wallet in the process. Sneaky, sneaky!

So, my friends, let us revel in the absurdity of it all! We’ve been charged twice to open up a digital shop, where our hard-earned money disappears faster than a magician’s assistant in a magic box. But fear not, for in the vast world of gaming, there are plenty of other experiences that won’t make you question the true purpose of your bank account.

Oh yes the “I cant accept facts, so let me slander” excuse, you must be in isolation mb.

Yep ur really rekt me with ur facts

1 Brig VS 10 bronze players

To me, even back in OW1 days before OW2 existed, I didn’t see/have a lot of the problems that everyone else complained about.

Double Shield: Didn’t bother me. I didn’t shoot at shields unless there was a reason (like maybe you had a Soldier on your team that had ult and we wanted to break shields so it was effective) otherwise, only shot at shields because it was all you could see until you repositioned to a better spot.
Besides that most scenarios you would just take high ground and shoot past the shields, played dive, or played death/ball brawl and ran through shields.
Not only did all of these work, there was a counter to double shield by going all dive or by playing shield break characters like Symm / Hanzo / Bastion / Junk and just melt them away if you really wanted to go that route.
The reason people didn’t like it is cause they sat at chokes shooting shield after shield the entire time with characters that take too long to break a shield, which they shouldn’t have been doing.
And at the very least, it’s an easy fix. They nerfed shields and removed some shields when they made OW2… could have just done this in OW1 without any other major changes.

Double Sniper: If anything, double sniper is much stronger in OW2 than OW1.

CC Spam: Also didn’t have any issues with CC and thought it was more fun, even while I played flanking/dive dps or tank. Rather than just running in blindly, you had to have a lot more awareness of enemy cool down management which made it fun and more tactical.
Just wait for Cass to throw his stun before you decide to get right in his range where he will definitely use his stun on you.
Or use your brain and just play outside of that range rather than complaining that the CC is unfair. You don’t have to run your face into the cc and then blame it on the game.
If the enemy team was running high CC, don’t play dive or play it better.
I’d play dive DPS into 5 enemies that had stun and it was fine. You just had to have good target selection and wait 3 seconds because it turns out that everyone wants to use their CDs often and it wouldn’t be long until most threw out their cc and were vulnerable after that.

In ow1 it was mostly about comp way less skill required than in ow2, it takes way less brain cells to play double shield or counter comp in ow1, cc spam will mostly get affected on tank which is shown on the vod, it is the big reason almost no one wanted to play tank in ow1.

In ow2 everything needs skills and brain cells big halleluiah for everyone that had skill in ow1 now we rank up faster. Now it’s twice as balanced than ow1, but it makes sense you don’t like it since you don’t have any of what requires in ow2.

I was literally playing OW1 during the OW2 beta.
Even double shield is better than 5v5. This is how bad OW2 is.

Lol OW2 is fine, it’s just less tactics and if anything I’ve climbed 2 ranks higher than where I was in OW1… granted I was already headed in the direction when OW1 was pulled.
At the end of OW1 I had a 75% win rate on DPS and a 70% win rate on Support and was climbing just fine.
My tank was around 65% win rate and I didn’t play it as much, but either way, all my roles were easily heading to next ranks.

So pretty sure that I would have continued on climbing the additional ranks no problem if OW2 never came out.
That being said, even with the change over to OW2, I just continued climbing anyways, so you’re whole “makes sense you didn’t like it since you don’t have any of what requires in OW2” is not only wrong, but I don’t even know what made you assume that.

The reason I didn’t have issues with any of the things I mentioned, is because players who had issues with those things, point them out as if it was a problem with the game and not that they were repeatedly doing the same wrong thing over and over.
Metal ranks had issues with those things (they have a lot of issues with things that aren’t issues with the game, but with their own skill and understanding, but it’s easier for them to think it’s an issue with the game and not themselves).
They didn’t think “oh I need to do other things instead” rather they thought “I have to keep shooting at the shield with Cassidy and I don’t understand why I’m not getting anything done.”

OW2 is far less tactful. You literally have one less enemy to have to worry about.
That’s less enemy cool downs to track, less ultimates to track, even just the lack of presence of one less character makes a huge a difference.
Also like you are arguing, less CC in general. Before you actually had to consider all enemies that had CC and play around it. Now you just walk up to enemies and blast away for free as long as you aren’t standing out in the open.

can anyone tell me when brig had 800 hp and flail could 1 shot in OW1, cause I don’t remember that

Yeah, I hate it when I accidentally queue into a raid boss custom game and one of the heroes is stronger than the others. :frowning:
