Yeah, they did add new heroes to that over time
For me it will depend on what the rewards are for such a time commitment.
If it rewards me for my time I’m in. If it is a stupid spray, name card or other junk I never use I will skip Stadium like I did Mastery challenge.
I’m a sucker for new maps and Stadium seems like it’s gonna get loads so I’ll probably play it a lot. New game modes is gonna be great too. Ultimately it will depend on how often it gets updated.
Stadium is a much bigger portion of the game than hero mastery so likely not.
It most likely will replace the modes i play. Plenty of NDA testers loving it and gave a very positive response.
Since it’s comp only. Most likely comp points are included.
I’ll definitely give Stadium a good try.
What will make or break the mode for me is the depth of the trees.
If the game allows for drastic play style alternatives for each hero, then i’m all for it.
If it’s “the same game but with broken stats”, then the mode might become uninteresting quickly.
Also the level of polish matters. I’ve seen Soldier76 with a Winston bubble during Spotlight. That feels too cheap tbh. It gives workshop vibes.
45 minute matches?! Ooooof. I hope I dont need a bathroom break in the middle of the match!
Probably not much. I only played Lab as long as I needed to for the event rewards and then never touched it again. I absolutely HATE making characters any more complex in OW, it’s one of the big reasons I stopped playing Rivals. Too much bloat on everything.
What happened to people playing games because they want to have fun?
Since when are games only made for some “rewards”?
Hopefully a lot.
Talent-style customization is something I always wanted. And although I kept waiting for PvE Hero-Missions to fill that hole in my heart, I will gladly accept this as well.
They’re wasting time and resources working on something like Stadium. People are going to play it a couple of times and forget about it.
Instead of adding more crap to the game they should remove Flashpoint and Clash altogether and OW would become instantly better.
Depends on if you’re better on 1st or 3rd person.
I kept trying to dodge behind walls in marvel. Only to realise it was the camera that was behind the wall and not my character model.
It didn’t go very well for me to say the least.
And if nothing else, the stadium would end up showing the devs which point of view is more popular for ow
People aren’t gonna forget about a new fundamental pillar of the game that’s gonna be continuously updated with its own maps and modes and that will implement a reimagined system from the PVE that people were extremely excited for for many years. I really don’t understand why this sort of sentiment keeps popping up in the community. I guess it’s like how people didn’t understand what the PVE was going to be either even after it was explained very clearly.
I don’t get it… What does Junkenstein, a PVE mission game mode, have to do with Stadium which, as far I understood it, is a PVP mode with customizable abilities (that were primarily meant for the PVE mode that got canceled) ?
This is complety unrelated to me… But maybe you can help me understand the link you see I don’t ?
How much do you think you’ll play stadium ?
I’ll play it however long it is required to get the achievements related to it then I probably won’t ever play it again (unless they make it a weekly challenge to play Stadium, which I guess they could, so their “efforts” into having worked on it can’t be ignored by the playerbase).
I hope there’s nothing but Battle XP as rewards for playing it 'cause I really don’t want it play in the long run (maybe just a couple of days, tops).
You’re bringing it up yourself, yet miss the point :
People were excited about PVE with talent trees because it was announced as PVE related (with possibly some kind of story around it).
Stadium looks nothing more than some sort of boosted “Mayhem” PVP Arcade mode. That’s not what the playerbase wanted. They specifically wanted PVE.
I don’t see the point of playing this, with Perks being there (that are already boring and forgetable, tbh)… Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see this having any future, especially because there aren’t any achievements, as far as we know.
What I liked about PVE missions was that it required teamplay to complete them in Legendary (and many other achievements like not dying through an entire run etc…).
How will Stadium have any of those since it’s PVP and therefore very random… ?
Good for people that will enjoy this but it’s completely false to state this was what the playerbase was looking forward to playing.
No idea what you’re on about with this one. We all knew what PVE was about. The only thing that wasn’t very clear to both the playerbase and the OW team themself (lol) was whether the PVE mode with talent trees would also have some storyline attached to it or not…
I guess PVE development didn’t go that far to have that question answered, since they canceled PVE before reaching that stage…
Hes talking about Junkensteins Lab, the other PvP mode with customizable abilities that was in Arcade last Halloween.
How much do I think I’ll play? Basically not at all.
I’ll try out the mode when it arrives for a match or two then probably never play it again. Hopefully it’s an optional install to the main game (bit like how COD is split into components) to save on overall install size.
I must have missed that one xD… I thought this was the regular Junkerstein with extra heroes to complete the mission with… or maybe this was what I played years ago… ?
Was this the first time they ever released it, last October or was is already there in 2022 and 2023 ? I can’t remember… I guess they didn’t promote it well, if it was actually a new game mode last October 'cause I’ve never heard of it before today…
Yes it was.
That kinda is a you problem then…
It was kinda popular overall.
Unless it has a PvE mode, I will not be playing it at all.
Oops, then I completely missed it… I didn’t see any achievement attached to it, as far as I remember :p…
I don’t think it was a “me” problem. We’re so used to bad and repetitive events (ever since OW went F2P) that most of us don’t pay attention to it anymore…
But I think I’ve played that once or twice, actually and I deemed trash 'cause there was something badly designed with passives when dying or something… Like not being able to switch heroes or something… can’t remember exactly… ?
Was this the game mode where we would play on regular Overwatch maps and had to choose some passives at the beginning of the match, something close to current “Perks” ?
If that was it, then I remember it but completely forgot it was implemented during the Halloween seasonal event :p…
Yes, if you want to describe it like that. I guess.
Like I said, you problem.
Or do you want to blame someone else for not paying attention yourself?
