How many ashes did you avoid today?

This is horribly misinformed and naive.

Winning doesn’t make your opponents tougher at all. MMR brings with it massive shadow matchmaking. The better your MMR the better your opponents, regardless of your current rank.

You can be a decayed GM in diamond but when searching comp you’ll play almost exclusively against GM’s. This happens in reverse too. Say your a career platinum but over time you’ve improved. Your MMR is now in diamond so your games will be played either with terrible teammates (a handicap) or against diamond MMR players despite you never reaching diamond.

That’s were the 50% win rate happens. The game tries very hard to push people towards that goal. This leads to good players getting handicapped with bad teammates in lower tiers or higher tier players facing smurfs all the time to balance lobbies since there are so few high level players.

The bottom line is the matchmaker really messes up games. Performance based SR and kill participation heavily impact “player grades.” We need Blizzard to rework matchmaking and ranked in general or the game wont improve even with better hero balance.

This is becoming more and more true everyday.

Solution: I stopped playing comp after the sale. I get to skip the smurfs AND Ashes at the same time. EZ CLAP.

I see this but with Support and Tank players actually.

I hate DPS players.

They’re irritating and they get everywhere.

Agree

Also, QP has been worse than ever because almost every team is Hanzo, Widow, Ashe, Ana. Sometimes throw a Mei in their as well. If next season becomes the sniper meta, Ill never touch a Blizzard game again. Period.

This is just a conspiracy theory, if the matchmaker forced your winrate to be 50% then why is there people with a much higher win percentage ? Nah, it’s just an excuse.

You can have above/below average win rates. I never said you couldn’t. The problem is this does happen. The matchmaker is broken and needs a rework.

Except it really isn’t, if it is, please provide proof of your claims. And not just 1 time it happened, but several.

There’s plenty of data you just need to look. Track your games for a day like I did. Make sure you track QP and arcade as well. Too bad private profiles are a thing or you could really see how skewed the matchmaker builds team.

And if my winrate is above 60% then, Will I have disproven this theory then ?

So I take it you’re an amazing Ashe player?

Not really. There are a lot of factors involved. Why do you think so many people buy alt accounts? Resetting you MMR with a new account gets you out of the MMR hole. Blizzard has a lot of issues with matchmaking, MMR, kill participation and other metrics that cause MMR to idle.

DPS mains everywhere. Never switch to fit comp/ counter enemy comp. Complains that there is no tank or healer. Gets upset when they lose. Probably the worst people ever. But next Friday, I won’t be playing a lot of OW or any game for that matter.

To stomp lower rank players.

No offense, but I generally don’t take seriously OTP Mercy players, nothing personal. Or any OTP’s in general, they are incredibly biased. I’ve also heard the argument “I have a GM alt” sooo many times, I’ve lost counting.

Well, that is one reason. Another is to start fresh. You hear about it constantly how someone bought a new account and placed leaps and bounds above their main. This is because a lot of the metrics in OW are broken and actively hold players down.

And then said person will slowky go down to their mains MMR and SR because they dont belong in the rank they got put in.

That’s not usually what happens. They typically level out around where they place. Why does this happen? Why do older accounts face tougher time climbing? Broken systems that don’t know what data is relevant and what data is.

I’ve tested this when I made my two new accounts. I placed low diamond on my main and have since climbed to high master. Both placed low masters but here’s the thing, I hit GM with both in under a month.

My match quality was way better too. There are so many broken things with MMR and matchmaking alone…

The problem is that Ashe is currently bugged. I get that Blizzard changed their mind about not introducing new heroes during an ongoing comp season but they should really remove her from comp until she’s fixed.

The same thing happened when Doomfist was first released, he was even more bugged than Ashe but people were smart enough to not play him in competitive games.

It will still be more different compared to the snipers. All of them requires the same precision except hanzo.

Also ashe’s zoom and fire rate in that mode still feels like a sniper.
