How does SR really work?

Is there any real understanding of how SR works? It just seems so random and backwards that I just can’t understand it. I lose 22 for a game that wasn’t close whatsoever where I felt like I did next to nothing while I lose 27 for a game that was incredibly close and I did extremely well in. It just makes no sense to me can anyone explain?

I’d imagine if the enemy team has a higher SR average, you gain more for winning and lose less for losing (and vice versa.)

All we can really do is guess how it works. That’s why the fixed SR system in Diamond+ is better. (Unless they removed that, I only do placements.)

Devs keep it absolutly secret … if people knew how SR worked they would abused the **** out of it. The only things we know is that it partly depends on your stats compared to other players stats on that hero, that rank and that map and on how the matchmaker guesses your winning chances are.
