How do you play Brig

Like an “Enhanced” way to play Brig, I can’t figure out a Berzerk mode for her how do yall Brig players play when your adrenaline and ultra instinct kicks in cause I can’t figure out anything.

I want some help from like a Brig “Main” or someone with a lot of experince on her.

Illari I have golden opportunity/Relentless, Baptiste is shot callers pride, Lifeweaver is lifes gamble.

I can’t like figure out a damn thing for Brig and shes the last piece Im missing to finish my group, I play her like well enough on the most basic level, but like she’s not a hero I “Mentally” click with is where Im having trouble.

I am Brig main. I had a good game (maybe a few) recently which I might be able to share. Low GM console ranked games (though I’ve hit GM1 with her). Cover is your best friend. Can’t shield bash when shield is broken. Shield bash is mobility 95% of the time. Always whipshot. Have restraint when sending packs. Understand the burst and heal over time with the packs.

You’ll also need calm nerves when you miss several whipshots and your team is struggling with heals

You are also a ping bot

If you can avoid it, don’t double pack people. Let the heal over time do its work then pack again.

If I remember, I can share any replay codes I have in an hour. I’ve been playing too much Lucio so may not have many Brig codes.

Good luck.
I love playing Brig, but I don’t know how to explain it.
Other than you’re a short range hero (boop isn’t that spammable, and might be worth saving to keep something safely on the other side of the shield) trying to be in the right place for when the right time presents itself lol
You start to back out when your shield has taken like 90 damage, because it’s tiny and you need that to move or seem like a threat.

But I only Brig into certain things. Sombra, Rein, Doom. And help my tank have one less thing to juggle (the move I will stalemate)

I think a good underline is shield management and CD management. Either of these are gone? You probably are too.

And I think the really interesting thing to master is when to put you shield up/down. So many engagements I could backpedal out of because I know when to unshield and jump, almost right back into shield. But that jump helps more than you’d think.

You mean all 3 of us? People love to say that “Brig is strong!” or “Brig is a crazy good hero!”, but somehow you will never see her in game. At this point Weaver is much more played than Brig. She is the least played hero IN THE GAME and mainly a “win more” kind of deal. You use her to enhance a rush comp, but other than that, she is quite useless (and I say that as the hero I have the second most playtime in!).

Its a shame, but you should not play her, if you want to win games. She is kind of the sym/torb of supports. Some make her work, but most of them are desperate attempts who search for something to work.

I play her in like very specific situations usually to deal with tracers or other flankers.

Thank you for all the advice!
Ill definitely be able to build something with this info!

It’s simple, just analyze your death.

When you die on brig, think about your position while the respawn timer counts down.

When the respawn timer is done and you spawn in, I like to press H and swap to Ana or Lucio.

Damn I never knew just how bad people considered brig to be this is news to me XD

She has crazy heals though. I think my average this season is like 9.5k per 10mins. At least I think that’s high currently.

Just pick Brigitte, die repeatedly, go to the forums, discover she at one point was personally responsible for the worst decisions ever made.

And cry. Just let it all out.

Then switch to Zenyatta or whatever.

I’m not a Brig main and I play in coordinated teams (scrims, tournaments, etc), so maybe it’s not the same… but I can share you my experience.
Brig is pretty map and comp dependant. Sometimes we go dive (winston, tracer, genji) but with ana and brig. First we make sure that we free the highground where we want Ana to be, and then, we dive. That’s what Brig comes to place. Purely to throw some healing packs and to protect the Ana.
In 90% of cases we user her in pair with Ana and some dive or counter-dive strat in mind.

I was a Lucio one-trick. Live long enough as the hero and you’ll see yourself become the villain or something.

I really wish I could give some advice, but I don’t know how helpful it would be coming from an apparent Silver

I guess the main thing is just being extra careful about keeping your shield from breaking, and knowing where to position. By default, I position somewhere around the middle of my team, so I can easily reach anyone who needs assistance. Also, landing those whips as much as possible

Not sure if this counts, or how basic this is, but when I’m using Bash for mobility, I tend to jump beforehand. This is kind of a carryover from OW1, where I was able to pull a 180 after the bash and shield while still moving through the air. It seems there’s been a little delay introduced that makes that tactic impossible now, but the jump still seems to be useful, at least to get a little extra distance

I wish I had better replay codes. I think my losses are probably better to learn from than my wins where I had a dps go 40-3.

942MXA Paraiso defeat, swapped off Lucio early
5V9MPY Shambali victory, Brig on attack only. Barely capped, then we full held.

If nothing else, we can make fun of what it takes to hit GM1 on console with Brig. These are GM5 I think. All my replays are Lucio atm.

You body guard the other healer and you both help each other out, and land whipshot enough for the aoe heals.

You haven’t said what exactly you’re having trouble with.

You dont play brig. You play some creature inhabitting her husk

Brig =/= the stun she had in her base kit

Brig is the armor, the shield, the mace to the face

I don’t need a stun to delete Some Bruh trying to pounce on my co-support

Brigitte’s whole archetype of being a ‘shield protector’ feels very superficial, you are rarely there to go and protect somebody as in give someone a buff like zaryas bubbles, at the end of the day nobody sees Brigitte as someone who can remarkably bring peel to anybody and make you say wow, what an exciting character. blizzards done a lackluster job with the character.

Brig’s mechanics was difficult for me to learn at first, but at least she’s fun at any level. I had the hardest issue figuring out how you bash forward, but get out of trouble. Let me start by saying, there is no front line Brig. She is not a tank. She can hold space for a few seconds, but that’s only in an emergency. You’ve got to get in and get out. Learning to survive is paramount. If you die, what’s left of your team will usually die.

The most important thing to understand is that Brig can not win games by only throwing health packs. Her best healing ability is her inspire. Its a constant chore to try and hit someone with your mace, whip shot, or shield bash (if you must) to keep inspire going. The hard part is knowing when its too dangerous to get a hit in. There are two tools to get this. One is your ability to survive with your shield. Brig can take a lot of damage. Push in, hit them with your mace, and shield bash out to safety. Also, your most important long distance tool is your whip shot. People say that you don’t need aim for Brig, but this is false. If you miss your whip and its too dangerous to go in, your team isn’t getting healed until your next whip shot comes around. You should always be checking your inspire up time. If mine isn’t above 40%, i’m messing up.

Next is learning the priority for health packs. Damage and Supports usually get only one. A really low Bastion gets two. I usually give two to tanks, unless they are really bad off, then they get all three. Constantly throw them, but don’t drain yourself. Don’t waste them. Watch your people. Since packs heal over time, sometimes I throw a pack to a full health tank, Reaper or Genji if they’re about to go in. Constantly proctor inspire and top them off with the health packs.

Know positioning is key. If your tank is getting dominated by the other tank, push them away with your whip shot or get some mace hits in to win the fight. As a general rule, never shield bash a full health tank. They may be about to ult and you probably need the bash to escape. Protect your other support. If they get jumped by a Sombra, Reaper, or Tracer, It’s your job to jump in turn the fight to your team’s advantage. Knowing when to go in to brawl with a damage is difficult. If it’s safe and the fight is winnable, you’ll carry your teammates. Brig shines in overtime fights of control points or payloads. She’s healing everyone in the area while beating the tar out of them.

The hardest thing about Brig is learning when you’re gonna die. I always use the alarm of the low health gasp. I don’t watch her health much, but the shield strength is important. If you lose your shield, you lose your mobility and you become a squishy without a gun. Survival at that point is difficult, The good news is that if you can hide for four seconds, you get your shield back full strength.

The hardest part of Brig is learning the mechanics. Do I shield bash first? Do I hold up my shield? Do I attack? Do I hit them with the whip shot, mace or shield bash first? The best answer I can give is every character you’re fighting is different. Sometimes the shape of the room changes the answer. You may want to whip shot someone into a corner and then beat them up. For some characters you will have to force out an ability before you even think of killing them, or you’re guaranteed to die. For example soldier’s rocket will kill you, but if you can force him to miss, you have a long time to kill him and its even easier if you block most of his shots with the shield and beat the stuffing out of him while he reloads. When confronted face to face with a Widowmaker, she’ll wait for you to drop your shield, but if you just stand there waiting for a few seconds, you get another shield bash, then strafe to the side and mace her to death. I can’t explain every situation, you just need seat time.

For me, the scariest things to fight are Junkrat and Ana. Avoid them. You’ve really gotta understand how to deal with each tank. Rein will pin you, so never give him the lineup. Ram will punch you to death. Run away if he’s punchy. If you’re in an open area with nothing to run around, Winton will electrocute you to death. Never get in Zarya’s face unless you’ve got rally. After she breaks your normal shield, use rally to get out of there unless she’s almost dead. Sigma is easy if you know the sequence. Shield his primary and the rocks. Push him backwards with whip shot.

The best thing you can do is get seat time. I recommend play a lot of unranked. Learn how to fight each character and most importantly don’t die. If you survive, you’re team will be more likely to survive.
